A good vacuum is the key to achieving your cleaning goals—and you don’t have to break the bank to get one that excels. Though Amazon Prime Day and other retailer sales are in the rearview, you can find some good prices, whether you prefer canisters, handhelds, sticks, robots, or uprights. You can even find deals on other floor-care products, including combo vac-mops, and carpet cleaners.
When highlighting vacuum sales, we consider factors that include the model’s performance in our tests, its brand’s predicted reliability and owner satisfaction, the features it offers, and the size of the discount vs. the typical cost of the product. If you’re not sure which vacuum is right for you, check out our vacuum buying guide or our full vacuum ratings, which show you how more than 200 models performed in our tests.

Cordless Stick Vacuums
We like the Shark Vertex Pro IZ662H’s many features. The wand can be bent to reach underneath furniture, and the vacuum itself folds for more compact storage. The vacuum is a strong cleaner, though it’s not as impressive on carpet as it is on bare floors. Its battery run time is relatively long, so you don’t have to worry as much as some other vacuums that the Shark will die on you while you’re in the middle of cleaning.
This was on sale for just $229 during Prime Day, but right now, Walmart has the best price.
The Shark PowerDetect IP1251 comes with lots of bells and whistles, including a dirt detection feature and a floor detect mode that adjusts the brush roll speed based on the surface it’s vacuuming. It’s very good at sucking up debris from carpets and is even more impressive at picking up pet hair. The vacuum can be converted into a hand vac and folded for storage.
This vac was about $90 less during last week’s sales, but you’re still saving a chunk here.
The Miele Duoflex is at the lowest price we’ve seen this year. It scores well in nearly all of our cleaning tests. It’s excellent at cleaning debris from bare floors as well as picking up pet hair. It’s only so-so at vacuuming dirt from carpets, but that’s not uncommon for stick vacs, which aren’t as powerful as uprights. What stands out the most about this model is how easy it is to use; we like how simple it is to remove the vacuum’s dustbin and clean its filter.
Robotic Vacuums
The iRobot Roomba Max 705 might be slightly more expensive than some other robots, but it’s the highest-performing one we’ve tested, which may be a reason to lay out the cash. Best Buy is the only retailer with a price this low right now, out of several retailers that offered it for $499 last week. It’s quiet and does well in every cleaning test we’ve thrown at it. It’s also outstanding at vacuuming up pet hair and is no slouch at cleaning carpets either, with a feature that increases suction power when it detects carpet. This vacuum is also better than many other robotic vacuums at navigating spaces and avoiding obstacles.
Robot Vacuum and Mop Combos
The Mova P10 Pro Ultra Gen2 is excellent at vacuuming, impressing us with its ability to clean carpets, an area that other robot vacuum and mop combos might struggle with. While its mopping function isn’t as strong, it’s still fairly decent. The model comes with a base that automatically empties the vacuum dustbin, cleans and dries the mopping pads, and refills the mop reservoir with cleaning solution. On sale, the Mova is usually priced at around $500, so this is the lowest price we’ve seen in a while.
Steam Mops
The Steam & Go Housekeeper 10-in-1 SAG806D does a bang-up job at cleaning stains off tile floors. It has a fairly long runtime and comes with many convenient tools, including attachments for cleaning tile grout, clothes, furniture, and carpets. This is the usual sale price we tend to see for this mop, though it was $20 less during Prime day.
The GorFanty 10-in-1 MultiPurpose is an excellent cleaner that can produce steam for a decent amount of time. We like that you can adjust the length of the mop to accommodate users of different heights. The mop comes with plenty of accessories, including attachments for cleaning tile grout, clothes, furniture, windows, and carpets. This is a nice discount, though we saw the price drop to $59 during Prime Day sales.
It’s hard to find fault with the Tineco Floor One S5, which does an outstanding job of cleaning stains off of ceramic tiles. It’s both a vacuum that can handle wet and dry messes and a steam mop. Especially handy is the self-cleaning function that automatically washes the brush roll.
This steam mop is about $30 more now that Prime Day is over, but it’s still a great price.
Upright Vacuums
The Shark Stratos AZ3002 is good for any home that has a mixture of carpets and bare floors, especially if it’s also home to a pet. It does a solid job cleaning carpets and an excellent job on bare floors. The lift-away feature that allows it to be used like a canister is another bonus. The price has fluctuated a lot this year, and it’s currently selling at a discount typical of this vacuum.
The Shark PowerDetect AZ4002 tackles cleaning jobs with ease. It’s also fairly quiet and comes packed with handy features, among them a dirt sensor that automatically boosts power to pull up more debris. It can detect floor types and adjust the speed of its brush rolls accordingly. For those who hate having to extricate hair from a vacuum’s brush rolls, the PowerDetect’s rolls are designed with a self-cleaning feature to guard against entanglements. This current price is on par with the lowest price we’ve seen this vacuum sell for this year.
Combo Vacuum-Mops
The Tineco Floor One S3 Smart Wet Dry Vacuum Cleaner Mop can pick up dry debris such as rice, cereal, and sand with aplomb. It’s also very good at cleaning wet spills and removing stains. Another plus: it boasts one of the longest run times among the models we’ve seen, so you won’t have to stop and recharge the combo vacuum-mop in the middle of your cleaning. Its current discount at Walmart is the lowest we’ve seen on this model.
Canister Vacuums
The Miele Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog is pricey, but at $200 off, it’s worth considering if you’re looking for a canister. It’s also dropped $10 at Amazonand Chewy since Prime Day, which is a lucky score if you’re shopping this week. It’s a great vacuum to have if you have allergies or asthma because it doesn’t release debris into the air as you’re cleaning it up from the floor. It also earns strong marks for vacuuming pet hair, making it a good choice for pet owners.
Cleaning-wise, the Miele Guard L1 won’t disappoint. It’s especially great on bare floors and at picking up pet hair, and cleans carpets well, too. At 22.5 pounds, however, it’s on the heavier side. (The wand itself is heavy because of the motor head inside.) A unique feature is its LCD screen, which shows the selected cleaning mode, vacuum bag fullness level, and exhaust filter saturation.
Amazon dropped the price on this canister vac by $60 since Prime Day, so you probably won’t find a better price anytime soon.
Carpet Cleaners
The Dirt Devil Compact Portable Spot Cleaner is a light little carpet cleaner at just 9 pounds with a full tank of solution. While the portable cleaners in our tests don’t measure up to full-sized machines in terms of their cleaning abilities, this model did well, especially when it comes to drying. It’s also one of the quieter models we tested. The tank isn’t huge (partly why the cleaner is so light), but if you’re just using it for spills and spot-cleaning, this model will do the trick.
We saw this carpet cleaner sell for $47 during Prime Day, but Walmart has the lowest price right now.
A standout among the portable carpet cleaners we’ve tested, the Shark StainStriker PX201 is decent at cleaning stains and gets high marks for drying carpets. It comes with a 57-inch hose and other attachments, including pet tools. It’s now selling at the lowest price we’ve seen this year.
The Hoover SmartWash+ Automatic FH52000 is convenient to handle, adequate at removing red-clay stains from carpet, and outstanding at removing cleaning solution to leave carpets dry, according to our tests. The model comes with a hose and has separate tanks for clean and dirty water. This sale brings the price back down to where it was earlier this summer.
Corded Stick Vacuums
We haven’t tested the Shark Rocket HV301 ourselves, but we expect it to perform as well as the Shark Rocket HV302, which proved to be a strong cleaner in our labs. The HV301 has many convenient features, too, including a 30-foot cord and the ability to convert into a hand vac. You can hang the hand vac on the bottom of the wand for easier storage.
The Shark PowerDetect HZ4002 does an admirable job of cleaning bare floors and does almost as well on carpet. It features an auto-detect mode that adjusts the brush roll speed to the surface, transitioning efficiently between the two. It can be pulled apart for compact storage, allowing it to stand on its own and take up minimal space. This model even delivers powerful suction in reverse for more efficient cleaning in both a forward and backward motion. We’ve seen it sell at lower prices this year, but this is still a pretty good discount.
Handheld Vacuums
The Black+Decker Flex BDH2020FL is impressive at cleaning, though it’s a bit noisy. We like that its dustbin is larger than most, so you won’t have to stop to empty it as often when you’re cleaning. It also comes with a long 4-foot hose, making it easier for you to access hard-to-reach places. Its current discount is on a par with the lowest price we’ve seen this vacuum sell for this year.
If you’re tired of lugging around a heavy hand vacuum while cleaning, you should consider the Shark Ion W1 WV201. At 1.4 pounds, it’s one of the lightest hand vacs we’ve tested. And despite its strong cleaning performance, it’s also fairly quiet. The downside is that its bin is on the small side, so you have to empty it frequently when tackling big messes.
The $79 sale price we saw last week has passed, but you’re still saving a nice chunk on a trusty vac, especially compared to prices at other retailers.
The Dyson Car+Boat 586119-01 is pricier than the other handheld vacuums we test, but its 24-minute run time is really impressive. It’s also a strong cleaner, especially with pet hair. (Though it’s not as effective at sucking up debris from smaller crevices.) We love that this handheld vacuum comes with a pistol grip, which means less strain on your wrist.
The current price is the lowest this vacuum usually sells for when discounted.
