Our testers bake hundreds of cakes and thousands of cookies every year to determine how well electric wall ovens perform. To see how the appliances hold up over time, our survey team asks thousands of CR members to provide details about problems they’ve had with their wall ovens and tell us how likely they are to recommend the one they own.

More on Wall Ovens, Cooktops, and Ranges

We heard from members about their experiences with 12,210 electric wall ovens they bought between 2015 and 2025, and used the data to calculate predicted reliability and owner satisfaction ratings. Predicted reliability reflects the likelihood that models from a given brand will develop problems or break within the first five years. Owner satisfaction reflects the percentage of members who said they would enthusiastically recommend their wall oven to a friend or family member.

Our survey found considerable differences in predicted reliability between brands, not to mention in owner satisfaction. Another key finding? The most reliable brands in our survey are a mix of mainstream and pro-style brands.

To find a reliable wall oven, start with our buying guide, which offers advice on the features and options that may matter most to you (such as whether a single- or double-oven model suits you best). Next, turn to our wall oven ratings for more information on each model we’ve tested, including lab performance.
