    What Owners Say

Other minor transmission & clutch problem

"Our 2004 MDX had a transmission fail. We have been concerned about some rough shifting on our 2017 MDXand have had the dealer upgrade te transmission software several times. We're still uncertain"

Anonymous, NC (2017 Acura MDX Base 3.5-L V6)

"We were driving from Illinois to Ohio when, while trying to overtake a slower moving car, I depressed the accelerator and the car revved high and didn't accelerate. It then went into limp mode (it went into 4th gear or a low gear close to that). All while driving 70 miles per hour. I was able to get over in the far right lane and drive at 55 (at 5K rpm) until I could get to an exit and stop at a gas station. After turning the car off and restarting, it reset itself with check engine light on, but was back to normal. After 500 miles, the check engine light went off. While I'm happy it didn't strand us, I'm still disappointed by this dangerous situation on the freeway. Later research revealed there is a service bulletin out for this issue. Thus I have further disappointment knowing that Acura knew of this issue, yet my transmission control module was not updated when the car was at the dealership for 3 months waiting to have the engine control module failure fixed?"

    Anonymous A., CA (2017 Acura MDX Base 3.5-L V6)
    Other in-car electronics problem

"The electronics and display are complicated, hard to navigate and have poor defaults to selected The car seems to want to prevent the customer to do ordinary things / mistakes - turned off in great forces a restart, not auto driving must be turned off EVERY time, can't back up with drivers door open."

    Anonymous A., AB (2017 Acura MDX Base 3.5-L V6)
