Audi hasn’t strayed far from its winning formula with the redesign of the 2025 Q5 compact luxury SUV. Like its predecessor, the third-generation model has tidy proportions, aggressive styling, and good visibility. When it goes on sale in spring 2025, the Q5 will be available with two turbocharged engines and standard AWD, while a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) may join later.

Audi has redesigned its Q5 luxury compact SUV for the 2025 model year, with evolutionary styling outside and a radical update inside. Two powertrains will be offered: a standard 268-hp, 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder in most versions or 362-hp, 3.0-liter turbo V6 in the SQ5 performance trim. Both are mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic and come standard with all-wheel drive. The interior is dominated by large screens: an 11.9-inch one in front of the driver curves and blends into the 14.5-inch center touchscreen. An optional 10.9-inch display is available for the front passenger. While all key safety systems come standard, the optional adaptive driving assistant plus uses the different ADAS systems along with high-resolution map data and data from other vehicles to guide the Q5. The redesigned SUV goes on sale in mid to late 2025. The outgoing model is also on sale as a 2025 model.
The redesigned Q5 gets new styling, increased performance promise, and a growing list of advanced safety features. The new Q is also available with Audi's Virtual Cockpit, which lets you expand the cluster between the instrument panel's large gauges into a larger color screen that can display audio, phone, navigation, and travel information. The standard audio system includes Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. Like the A4, the Q5 is powered by an updated 252-hp, 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that is coupled to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is standard. Available advanced safety features include forward-collision warning with automatic braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear-collision warning, and lane-keep assist. Changes for the 2020 model year include standard high-beam assist, and greater availability of lane centering, adaptive cruise control, and front and rear parking sensors. A plug-in hybrid version, with a claimed electric range of 20 miles, is also new. For 2021, the Q5 got a freshening with a modest power boost. Coupe-like Sportback versions are added to both Q5 and SQ5. It also brought wireless Apple CarPlay and more standard advanced safety features.
