    Exhaust

Muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, heat shields, leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Exhaust leaks

"The poll assemger side exhaust pipe had a worn support bushing which caused the pipe to hit a crossmember and crack. Pipe was welded rather than replaced for $858. Now the same passenger side pipe has cracked where it joins with drivers side exhaust. Waiting two weeks for part from Audi. I believe the part alone is over $2000."

    Anonymous A., IL (2018 Audi Q7 3.0T 3.0-L V6 supercharged)

"There was a cracked weld in the exhaust pipe between the engine and catalytic converter. I could tell there was a problem as I could hear the puffing noise. The Audi dealer had to order the replacement part. So after a week the part arrived and it was replaced in half a day. It was an expensive part to replace. It did not prevent us from using the vehicle while we waited on the part."

    Anonymous, IA (2018 Audi Q7 3.0T 3.0-L V6 supercharged)

    Rotors

"Experience some vibration and braking issues with the rotors, as per Audi notice sent out in 2022 or 2023 regarding a manufacturing defect. Since front rotors were 65% worn, replaced them with high-end DFC carbon alloy rotors & NRS brake pads, and no more issues...just smooth solid braking."

    Anonymous A., VA (2018 Audi Q7 3.0T 3.0-L V6 supercharged)

    Drive System

Driveshaft or axle, CV joint, differential, transfer case, four-wheel-drive/all-wheel-drive components, driveline vibration, electrical failure, traction control, electronic stability control.

    What Owners Say

    Other driveline problem

"The engine motor mounts on our Q7 uses a liquid inside a rubber container. We had about 80,000 miles on our vehicle and when serviced the technician noted that the motor mounts were leaking fluid and needed replacement. There weren't any other indications (vibrations, noise) that this was a problem other than the fluid leaking out. An online search found that this is a very common problem with Audi vehicles. It took about half a day for the mounts to be replaced. They were expensive to get repaired, in my opinion."

    Anonymous, IA (2018 Audi Q7 3.0T 3.0-L V6 supercharged)

    Engine Minor

Accessory belts and pulleys, engine computer, engine mounts, engine knock or ping, fuel leaks, oil leaks.

"Burns 1 quart oil every 500 miles or fewer. Progressively worse over time. Started every, 7000 miles. Dealer said it was normal and would not address it. I complained every time I brought it in for service. Oil is leaking into the clylenders."

Reliability indicates how models have performed in the past, providing the basis for predicting how the vehicles will hold up in the year ahead. These charts provide the most comprehensive reliability information available to consumers. Based on information received from our latest subscriber survey for over 300,000 vehicles, our reliability history charts give you a rundown on how 2000 through 2024 vehicles are holding up in 20 potential trouble spots, ranging from the engine, transmission, electric motor, EV charging, and brakes to power equipment and the electrical accessories. NA indicates that we did not receive a large enough sample size to provide data for a specific year. An X indicates that the vehicle was not manufactured for a specific year.
