What Owners Say
""System was not blowing hot air. Diagnosis from a BMW specialty shop was that there was blockage in some part that the water passed through in order to become heated and then heat the air. I was originally told it would need replacing the core, which would be a total cost of about $2,500. I found another BMW specialty that tried and exploratory treatment to clean the blockage in the core to get the water passing through and heating up again. This repair approach worked in the cost was about $1,000. This approach of making a repair rather than replacing the core was largely successful, to the point that the car can now be comfortably heated again. I do think that the heating function is still marginally compromised, but it is no longer a problem. No problems since then. Heating system continues to work fine.""
Anonymous A., CA (2011 BMW 3 Series 328i 3.0-L 6 Cyl)"see prior comments made. System would bounce back & forth on its own between "Auto" and non-Auto, and it would decrease the air pushed out. This happened for about a week or so this past late Spring/early Summer; hasn't happened again since."
Anonymous A., IN (2011 BMW 3 Series 328i 3.0-L 6 Cyl)""The other problem was not a climate system problem. It had to do with the oil pressure warning light in the dash. The low oil volume light would come on, but the dealer told me that this was a malfunction in the sensor, and then in fact thevl car did have the proper amount of oil. (There is no oil dipstick on this model.) A BMW specialty shop told me they had seen this problem before, and their approach was to replace the part at the same time that they did in oil change, which result in a substantial savings from combining the two tasks.""
Anonymous A., CA (2011 BMW 3 Series 328i 3.0-L 6 Cyl)""We have had refrigerant leaks for at least the past 3 or 4 years. As fixing the issue would cost a large percentage of the cars worth, we've declined to do so. Instead, we have refilled the refrigerant annually. However, we're to the point where that is probably not feasible given it we can't make it through the summer without its performance becoming ineffective.""
Anonymous A., TX (2011 BMW 3 Series 328i 3.0-L 6 Cyl)""consumes a lot of antifreeze during ordinary use. Does not leak on the pavement, but it is consumed internally through use. no white smoke is noticed""

""Dealer said it had a leak - it was never replaced, so not sure""
