    First Take
Based on the X5 SUV, the X6 features standard all-wheel drive. BMW calls this a sports activity coupe because it seats only four and is taller than traditional coupes. A turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine powers most versions. A 4.4-liter V8 is also offered. The all-wheel-drive system can vary the torque from side to side to minimize understeer, similar to the system in the Acura MDX and RDX. A high-performance M version and a hybrid are also available.
