    EV Battery

Electric/hybrid battery pack failure, replacement or malfunction, or cooling.

    What Owners Say

    Electric/hybrid battery pack replacement

""Display said service soon, car appeared to operate normaly. Dealer replaced battery at no charge. I now have more range. Win,Win.""

Anonymous, CA (2021 Chevrolet Bolt Premier Electric)

"Engine failure message message required dealer to check battery which initiated a factory recall/replacement"

Anonymous, OR (2021 Chevrolet Bolt LT Electric)

"Vehicle disabled for 16 weeks (so far) waiting for replacement battery. GM has offered only partial reimbursement for comparable car rental. Status updates nonexistent."

Anonymous A., NM (2021 Chevrolet Bolt LT Electric)

"I got the message on the screen saying Propulsion power reduced. I took it in to the dealer and they determined that it needed a new battery. That was 2 weeks ago. The car is still there. They said it might take 8 weeks to get the battery. I know other Bolt owners this has happened to and once the battery is replaced everything was fine. Im not upset or angry because I knew this could happen. I LOVE the car and will be delighted to have it back. But they gave me a loaner and it all will cost me nothing."

Anonymous A., NJ (2021 Chevrolet Bolt LT Electric)

""Software installed as part of battery recall detected a battery fault during a long distance trip. This limited the car's range to 80 miles. Had to leave car at out-of-state dealer for battery replacement. Ultimately, GM covered cost of new battery (with new warranty) plus cost of rental car and gas for one month, plus motel costs for return trip to pick up car.""

Anonymous, CA (2021 Chevrolet Bolt LT Electric)

    "12V battery failure"

Anonymous, OH (2021 Chevrolet Bolt LT Electric)
    Other electric/hybrid battery problem

""Battery recall, cannot be carded past 80% due to fire risk""

Anonymous, CA (2021 Chevrolet Bolt LT Electric)

    EV Charging

Won't charge at home; won't work with some public chargers; won't fully charge; charge connection; charge port door.

    What Owners Say

    Other electric/hybrid charging problem

""When the car is cold, the backup lines only appear when the car is in drive and disappear in reverse. I have had it back to the dealer 5 times and the answer from them and GM (in a memo) that's the way it is. Back up lines in forward do not help""

Anonymous, NM (2021 Chevrolet Bolt LT Electric)
    Won't fully charge

""To get around the battery fires and explosions GM limits my charge to 80% which limits my range to 170-210 miles until I have nearly 14000 miles on the odometer. However with the limited range, I cannot use the car a lot and therefore will take years to reach the nearly 14,000 miles required. There mistake has become my problem.""

Anonymous, NM (2021 Chevrolet Bolt LT Electric)

""GM had a recall on the battery bcs of fires and explosions. So they won't have to change the battery they limit the charge to 80% until I drive it almost 14,000 miles but since I have limited range, I cannot reach the 14,000 miles. Their mistake became my problem. GM DOES NOT SUPPORT IT'S PRODUCTS""

Anonymous, NM (2021 Chevrolet Bolt LT Electric)

""It required some sort of software patch to fix it, but was fully covered under warranty.""

Anonymous, NY (2021 Chevrolet Bolt LT Electric)

    In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

    What Owners Say

Anonymous, CA (2021 Chevrolet Bolt LT Electric)

""When the car is cold, the backup lines will not appear when the car is in reverse. Sometimes they appear when the car is put in Drive then disappear when put in reverse. They have had the car 4 times for a almot a week each time but cannot repair it, and showed me a memo from GM that says if they can't repair it, then they can't repair it.""
