    Owner Reported Trouble Spots

The Reliability score is based on our latest subscriber survey of 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV owners. The owner comments describe problems respondents experienced with this vehicle.

    Electrical Accessories

Cruise control, clock, warning lights, body control module, keyless entry, wiper motor or washer, tire pressure monitor, interior or exterior lights, horn, gauges, 12V power plug, USB ports, alarm or security system, remote engine start, heated or cooled seats, heated steering wheel, headlights, automatic headlights, automatic wipers, wireless charging pad.

    What Owners Say

    12V battery

"Software caused the 12 volt battery to drain"

Anonymous A., NY (2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV 3LT Electric)

"This battery is supposed to charge when you chrge you vehicle but for some reason after I finished charging the vehicle this battery was low and had to be manually charged."

Anonymous, ON (2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV RS Electric)
    Other electrical system problem

"The driver's side power window stopped working. Now it cannot be rolled down."

Anonymous, MI (2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV 1LT Electric)

    Climate System

AC compressor, blower (fan) motor, condenser, evaporator, heater system, automatic climate system, electrical failure, refrigerant leakage.

    What Owners Say

    Heater system

""When entering the car on a typical cold morning (32 degrees) the system will not heat up for at least 20 minutes. However, if you remote start the car and preheat, the heat works instantaneously.""

Anonymous, MA (2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV RS Electric)
    Other climate system problem

"A/C condensate drain was not connected to the outside from the factory resulting in water pooling into the front passenger well. GM issued a TSB 25-NA-149, but did not reach out to the owners, the water was pooling during Spring/Summer of 2025 until I discovered the issue."

Anonymous, MI (2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV 3LT Electric)
    Refrigerant leaks

"I was driving the car in the first week of ownership when it told me there was a propblem with the high voltage system. It turns out there was a cut O-ring in the refigerant system that allowed the refrigerant to leak out. Easily fixed, but it threw a high voltage charging error (cannot charge) because the same system that heats and cools the cabin heats and cools the battery. This is something unique to EV's with heat pumps and no resistive heating, so far as I know, came to a surprise, but makes sense when you know how it works."

Anonymous A., MI (2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV 2LT Electric)

    Noises/Leaks

Squeaks, rattles, wind noises, seals and/or weather stripping, air and water leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Squeaks or rattles

"Deep in the dashboard area on certain rough pavement patterns there is a very annoying rattle."

Anonymous A., CA (2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV 2LT Electric)

""In cold weather, there is something rattling under the dash. Unsure what the problem is, and it has not been resolved by the dealer.""

Anonymous, MA (2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV RS Electric)

    EV Battery

Electric/hybrid battery pack failure, replacement or malfunction, or cooling.

    What Owners Say

    Electric/hybrid battery pack cooling problem

"I got an error message saying "Service High Voltage System. The item that cools the battery malfunctioned and needed to be replaced. BTW, my vehicle is a 2025 model, but my only choice on this survey was 2024."

Anonymous A., NJ (2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV 1LT Electric)
    Electric/hybrid battery pack replacement

"The car failed to charge the second time I needed to charge it. A battery module failed which required a full battery replacement and took over a month."

Anonymous, ON (2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV RS Electric)

    In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

    What Owners Say

    In-dash navigation system (GPS)

"The built-in navigation system is built-in Google Maps. But it sometimes loses GPS signal (even in the wide open), or the GPS signal thinks we are a few hundred feet away, so the navigation gets messed up. Our phones will be fine, but because the phone navigation can't be paired with the car (no Apple CarPlay or Android Auto), we can't have navigation. Also, when the phone is paired to the car, the phone audio navigation doesn't route through the car, but the phone thinks it is connected so the phone doesn't put the navigation through the speaker. This is only a problem for navigation - hands free phone calls still works."

Anonymous, CA (2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV 2LT Electric)

    "Started at new"

Anonymous, PA (2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV Unsure Electric)

    Body Hardware

Windows, locks and latches, doors or sliding doors, tailgate, trunk or hatch, mirrors, seat controls (power or manual), seat belts, sunroof, convertible top, glass defect.

    What Owners Say

    Sunroof

"The sunroof leaked and it took a week to get it fixed, I was provided a loaner."

Anonymous, AL (2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV RS Electric)

    EV Charging

Won't charge at home; won't work with some public chargers; won't fully charge; charge connection; charge port door.

    What Owners Say

    Other electric/hybrid charging problem

"The display for percent charging showed 61% even though vehicle was fully charge. A software update corrected the error."

Anonymous, OH (2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV 2LT Electric)

    Paint/Trim

Paint (fading, chalking, peeling, or cracking), loose interior or exterior trim or moldings, rust.

    What Owners Say

    Loose exterior trim or moldings

"Lower from passenger door was loose and warped away from the door at delivery. It was repaired under warranty."

Anonymous A., OR (2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV 2LT Electric)
