What Owners Say

Catalytic converter

""It failed & had to be replaced costing me$3,000.00""

Anonymous, NC (2014 Chevrolet Equinox LT 2.4-L 4 Cyl)

"The catalytic converter is going bad and continues to throw a code and will need to be replaced before the next emissions chaeck"

Anonymous, 99 (2014 Chevrolet Equinox LT 2.4-L 4 Cyl)

""I initially had this replaced in Jan. 2024. In March of 2025, the check engine light went on again and my scanner told me the issue was with catalytic converter. I brought the equinox back to the shop where I got replacement in Jan 2024 and the part was still under warranty. Fingers crossed it's good now but I've read intermittent criticism linking issues with the exhaust system, the pcv valve, and the way the engine is known to "eat oil," and the 2.4cyl is still eating oil, so I'm not holding my breath.""

Anonymous A., MD (2014 Chevrolet Equinox LT 2.4-L 4 Cyl)
Other exhaust system problem

"I can't be ver specific. We began to hear what sounded like a leak in the exhaust pipe. Turned out to be rather serious and had to be repaired. Took us maybe six months to finally take care of it."
