Anonymous, IN (2016 Chevrolet Equinox LTZ 2.4-L 4 Cyl)
    Other/unsure

Anonymous, IL (2016 Chevrolet Equinox LT 2.4-L 4 Cyl)

    "Engine Power REduction"

Anonymous A., PA (2016 Chevrolet Equinox LT 2.4-L 4 Cyl)

"Replacement of key fobs are expensive"

Anonymous, NJ (2016 Chevrolet Equinox LT 3.6-L V6)
    Tire pressure monitor

"The tire pressure monitors were too expensive to get fix at the same time, another problem, a leaking exhaust from a rupturing branch that was shot underneath my car from a truck in another lane."

Anonymous A., MA (2016 Chevrolet Equinox LTZ)
    Wiper motor or washer

"I never had a car in the past that had wiper failure. recently while several blocks from my home during a Northeaster my wipers stop working and I literally could not see out of my windshield.I have a new appreciation for the double yellow lines and the white lines that guided me in a harrowing journey back to my home. The wipers were fine the problem was in the motor that drove the wipers. It costs me &433.41 to have a new motor replacement."

Anonymous A., MA (2016 Chevrolet Equinox LTZ)

    Engine Major

Engine rebuild or replacement, cylinder head, head gasket, turbocharger or supercharger, timing chain or belt.

    What Owners Say

    Other major engine problem

"I bought this vehicle in 2021 and the excessive oil consumption is getting worse. I lose about 2 to 3 quarts every 1000 miles or so. I am in the process of doing the excessive oil consumption test with the CHEVROLET deal and have a claim in with my extended warrenty company."

Anonymous, IN (2016 Chevrolet Equinox LTZ 2.4-L 4 Cyl)
    Timing belt or chain

"Check engine light came on July 27. Took to dealer Aug. 1 to run diagnostics. Bad news was timing chain wearing out. MAJOR labor/parts (over $2600). Subsequent call revealed they ALSO found that bearing inside the water pump is starting to fail so will be another $600!! Vehicle only has 100,300 miles on & has been faithfully maintained as scheduled. Very disappointing to incur such a major expense in a well-maintained vehicle with low mileage for 9 years old (purchased Nov. 2015). Vehicle still in shop; hopefully will be repaired Aug. 5-6, so have been without a vehicle in the meantime."

Anonymous, (2016 Chevrolet Equinox LTZ 2.4-L 4 Cyl)

    What Owners Say

    Antilock braking system (ABS)

"ABS system failure was wide spread in these models resulting in scarcity of modules to replace them! I waited nearly 4 months to get my unit but was able to drive the Equinox very sparingly due to second car."

Anonymous A., FL (2016 Chevrolet Equinox LT 2.4-L 4 Cyl)

Reliability indicates how models have performed in the past, providing the basis for predicting how the vehicles will hold up in the year ahead. These charts provide the most comprehensive reliability information available to consumers. Based on information received from our latest subscriber survey for over 300,000 vehicles, our reliability history charts give you a rundown on how 2000 through 2024 vehicles are holding up in 20 potential trouble spots, ranging from the engine, transmission, electric motor, EV charging, and brakes to power equipment and the electrical accessories. NA indicates that we did not receive a large enough sample size to provide data for a specific year. An X indicates that the vehicle was not manufactured for a specific year.
