"Diamond white paint started bubbling and crack when it was about 5 years old. it peels right down to the bare metal. the entire truck is peeling and GMC will not address it. They say it is not their issue, even though I see many white GMC vehicles out there with the exact same problem. Now the rest of the truck inside is immaculate the truck is difficult to sell or trade in.GMC should be ashamed of themselves, even though we know they don't give a crap."

Rust

"I live in Connecticut. Pretty common for rust to develop at center of pickup bed wheel wells also at rocker panels. Poor design as all chevy trucks have flat wheel wells as opposed to Ford and dodge allowing winter road chemicals to gather and react with the steel bed materials. NTSB was notified and responded indicating rinsing road chemicals is required in areas where used. Unfortunately no access to areas with rinsing agents is possible. An option should include a system of tubing that delivers rinse to areas where corrosion can occur or galvanized or otherwise modifying materials to reduce the likelihood of corrosion."

"Three or four years ago, I started hearing a clunking noise sometimes when I turned. The dealer told me it was worn control arms, and they would be around $1800 to repair. Last summer, the power steering went out completely, and it turned out that the steering rack had failed. The Chevrolet dealer said that a new steering rack was not available and they didnt know when would become available. A different repair shop located a rebuilt steering rack and replaced it. At the time they told me that the control alarms were slightly worn , but did not need to be replaced."
