What Owners Say
""Infotainment system freezes. Locks and unlocks doors, changes channels on radio""
Anonymous A., ME (2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT 5.3-L V8)""As noted in previous problem, the music device shares a touchscreen interface with other vehicle information system. The touchscreen began to randomly change displays and radio channels, creating an unsafe distraction and bad annoyance.""
Anonymous, SC (2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT 5.3-L V8)""Screen would freeze, but more often, the screen would change the channels on its own, and all the presets would start scrolling on the screen and stop and change channels randomly.""
Anonymous, PA (2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ Unsure)""The main touchscreen experienced spontaneous, near-random inputs. It affected the smaller in-dash display by changing the display option (i.e. I would lose my digital speedometer) the fault would also randomly change my satellite radio station every few minutes. These random changes would divert my attention from vehicle operation. I was able to eliminate the distraction tion by turning the display off. This was safer, but deprived me of my radio that I was paying for.""
Anonymous, SC (2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT 5.3-L V8)"XM radio antenna failed. No longer can receive satellite signals"
Anonymous A., FL (2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT 5.3-L V8)""About a month after we bought it, the infotainment display started clicking and would change radio station automatically. As time went on the display would change from radio to compass or clock to satellite radio to some other display constantly every time. We looked it up online and found that many owners of 2017 Silverados had the exact same problem and only was remedied by replacing the whole unit. People reported that they paid approximately $1200 st dealership. We bought an OEM unit on eBay for $100 and my husband replaced it himself. It's been working right ever since.""
Anonymous A., CT (2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT 5.3-L V8)""As part of the infotainment display problem, the radio would change stations and switch to serious radio all on its own. Replaced whole unit with problem solved.""
