Chevrolet Silverado 1500

"ENGINE QUIT RUNNING. HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO CHEV. DEALERSHIP FOR COMPLETE ENGINE OVERHAUL."

"First started around 100,000 miles. Loud clicking in the right bank of cylinders and loss of some power. Dealer shop diagnosed as injector problem and reset. Noise returned around 130,000 miles. Loud noise and loss of engine at 135,000 while riding down the road. Tried recranking and it was running very rough and very loud knock. Shut down for 20 minutes while waiting on AAA. Tried restarting again and as long as the rpm stayed below 1000 it ran on 4 cylinders. I figured I couldn't hurt it anymore so I drove it to the dealer and left it."

""August 2024. First started as an intermittent loss of power steering and bogus error messages on the display. Then it would not start at all. Had it towed to local CHEVROLET dealer within my AAA range. They diagnosed a bad main electrical cable that runs the entire length of the truck. 2 months to fix. (A $2200 part that fortunately was covered under a 3rd party extended warranty.) I suspect they were wrong! Because they also replaced a $20 corroded ground strap, which was most likely the cause, per my regular trusted CHEVROLET dealer service dept and online forums. So a horrible experience with the local dealer who I will never deal with again, ever!""
