What Owners Say
"Expired in carport. Dead 12V battery/. Had to be towed to dealer to replace."
Anonymous, WA (2017 Chevrolet Volt LT 1.5-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)"section 3 of 4 sections was deemed inefficient; needed replacement; 4 month process due to parts availability according to Chevrolet"
Anonymous, CA (2017 Chevrolet Volt Premier 1.5-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)"Two months following our purchase of a new CHEVROLET Volt from a North Vancouver dealership, the car was immobilized. Would not start. Car was towed to dealership. We were given a courtesy car to drive for 7 weeks while the dealership tried to get a module for the battery. I was told the battery manufacturer was not willing to sell a module that made up approx 1/8 of the engine battery. GM did not want to replace (pay for) an entire new battery when only a 1/8 portion of the battery had failed. After 6 weeks - GM agreed to replace the entire battery - about $8,000.00 worth"
Anonymous A., BC (2017 Chevrolet Volt LT 1.5-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)"Lost power completely when backing out of driveway. Would not restart. Onstar gave me error codes, and online search revealed a Chevrolet known problem with the Battery Energy Control Module. I was fortunate to get the part within a couple days, thanks to a CHEVROLET dealership parts manager, and service department installed within the week. The part and installation were done at no charge to me. For over a year before this event, car had a clicking noise (that service department said they couldnt hear). That noise stopped after the BECM was replaced."
Anonymous, TX (2017 Chevrolet Volt Premier 1.5-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)"The BECM module failed and bricked the car. It was towed in for service and GM gave me a loaner. Repairs took about 2 weeks and I was not charged for anything."
Anonymous, PA (2017 Chevrolet Volt LT 1.5-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)"The vehicle stopped working in electric mode and just was powered in gas mode but it would only go about 30 mph and ran extremely rough. I drove it carefully to the Chevrolet Dealership where they fixed the problem under manufacturers warranty. Electrical charging issues are warranted up to 100K miles. ( this has recently been extended to 150K miles by Chevrolet)."
