    What Owners Say

    Apple CarPlay

"The system regularly fails to connect to my phone. I often have to turn the Bluetooth off on my phone and then turn it back on and attempt to reconnect to the car system. Sometimes it refuses to disconnect when I turn it off and will persist in playing even when I dont want it to. In other words, Its functionality is erratic. Radio is reception is notably, poor with loud static so much so that I do not use the radio at all. I have had the entire system replaced under warranty and the same problems persist, so I have to conclude that it is a design flaw."

    Anonymous A., CA (2018 Chevrolet Volt 1.5-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)
    Phone pairing (e.g., Bluetooth)

"Bluetooth fails to connect at least 50% of the time. I must turn my Bluetooth setting off on my phone and tell the car to disconnect the device and then reconnect everything. Sometimes this works and sometimes it doesnt. As I stated previously, Ive had the system replaced Under warranty and I have also had it hard reset at the Chevrolet dealer Out of my own pocket. Neither effort yielded successful results."

    Anonymous A., CA (2018 Chevrolet Volt 1.5-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)

    Electric Motor

    What Owners Say

Many (over a dozen) error codes. Towed to dealership, they said EGR valve. After 10 months, still waiting for that part."

    Anonymous A., TX (2018 Chevrolet Volt Premier 1.5-L 4 Cyl plug-in hybrid)
    Other electric/hybrid motor problem

"The Battery Control Module (BCM) failed rendering the car extremely unreliable and prone to just stop driving in traffic. Problem fixed under warranty by Chevrolet. Note this is the only major problem I have had with this vehicle in 6 years of ownership, but it was a dusie!"

    SEAT BELTS
    Sep 26, 2018
If the child seat is not properly secured in the event of a crash, it can increase the risk of injury.
    Summary:
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Cadillac CT6, Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Suburban, Volt, and GMC Yukon XL vehicles. Certain second-row or third-row rear seatbelts retractor assemblies may not automatically lock when the seatbelt is fully pulled out of the retractor, possibly preventing a child seat from being properly secured. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."
    What should you do:
GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the rear seatbelt retractors and replace them if necessary, free of charge. The recall began November 7, 2018. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 18315.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

A reduction of braking performance can increase the risk of a crash.
    Summary:
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Chevrolet Equinox, Impala, Cruze, Volt and Bolt EV vehicles, GMC Terrain vehicles, Buick Lacrosse and Regal vehicles, Cadillac XTS and XTS Professional vehicles and 2018 Chevrolet Malibu vehicles. The rear brake caliper pistons may have an insufficient coating causing gas pockets to form, potentially reducing rear brake performance.
    What should you do:
GM will notify owners, and dealers will bleed the vehicle's brake system, free of charge. The recall began October 11, 2018. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300, Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782.
