What Owners Say

A/C compressor

"Compressor failed and had to be replaced"

Anonymous, OH (2014 Chrysler Town & Country Touring 3.6-L V6)
Automatic climate control

"The air conditioning system would just stop, then after several minutes it would start up again. I took it to chrysler and they have had it over 6 weeks waiting on parts."

Anonymous, AR (2014 Chrysler Town & Country 3.6-L V6)
Blower (fan) motor

"In the spring of 2024, all of a sudden my teenagers were complaining that it was hot in the minivan. I realized that there was no air blowing out at all from all of the back vents. During the spring I just cranked up the AC in the front and blew the air back towards them as best as I could. When it started getting very hot outside, I knew I had to fix it. I researched on some online forums and realized that the blower for the back part of the van (80% of the vehicle) needed to be replaced. I found a video on YouTube showing how to take apart the inside wall in the back of the minivan and replace the blower. The YouTuber had also linked the parts, so I ordered them from Amazon. It took me a few hours, but I (a 51, 46 year old woman) was able to take it apart, replace the blower, and put it back together 100% on my own. It cost less than $50 instead of the $400-600 that I would have been charged anywhere, and the blower immediately started working again."

Anonymous, TX (2014 Chrysler Town & Country Touring 3.6-L V6)

Transmission leaks

"It was discovered during a safety check while replacing the battery."

Anonymous, MI (2014 Chrysler Town & Country Touring 3.6-L V6)

"Transmission started acting funny by jerking while driving, or taking too long to shift into the next gear. A week or two later, it was not getting out of 1st or 2nd gear, and one time it was while going through a roundabout. The car started smoking profusely. I had it towed to a local Roadrunner to get serviced. They did a complete change of transmission fluids, and I believe they fixed a leak. EQUIPMENT
Dec 21, 2017
If the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury in the event of a fire.
Summary:
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling various Dodge, Chrysler, and RAM vehicles equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V824-0103.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or requiring excessive force to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. For a full list of the affected fire extinguisher models visit: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf
What should you do:
Chrysler will notify owners instructing them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began February 14, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403 or Kidde customer service service toll-free at 1-855-262-3540, or online at www.kidde.com and click on "Product Safety Recall" for more information. Chrysler's number for this recall is T82.

TIRES
Oct 08, 2014
If the TPMS light illuminates because the sensors cannot be located, it could mask an actual low tire pressure condition, possibly resulting in tire failure, increasing the risk of a crash.
Summary:
Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2014 Chrysler Town and Country and Dodge Grand Caravan vehicles manufactured March 20, 2014, to April 22, 2014, and 2014 Jeep Wrangler vehicles manufactured March 21, 2014, to April 22, 2014. Due to a software error, the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) may fail to learn the locations of the individual sensors while the vehicle is being driven. As a result, the low tire pressure warning light will illuminate, despite the the tire pressures being within specification. Should one of the tires lose air pressure, the driver would not be notified of the change in air pressure. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 138, "Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems."
What should you do:
Chrysler has notified owners, and dealers will reprogram the TPMS module, free of charge. The recall began on October 23, 2014. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is P63.
For more information:
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

May 07, 2014

What should you do:
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the vent window switch with a newer version, free of charge. The owner notification letter was issued and the remedy campaign launched on on December 31, 2014. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403.
