Owner Reported Trouble Spots

The Reliability score is based on our latest subscriber survey of 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan owners. The owner comments describe problems respondents experienced with this vehicle.

Climate System

AC compressor, blower (fan) motor, condenser, evaporator, heater system, automatic climate system, electrical failure, refrigerant leakage.

/ 5

What Owners Say

A/C compressor

"Not cooling properly. Recharged, found connection problems, worked well. Then heard vibration (rattling) from unit. Needed gear replacement (drain, replace part, recharge). Two weeks later, rattling returned, part replaced again under warranty, so no further cost."

Anonymous, AB (2011 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.6-L V6)
Automatic climate control

"There are 4 actuators in the HVAC system. They open and close the vents in the ducts when you change from hot to cold. These are tested every time the car is started. Replacing them is labor intensive and therefore cost prohibitive. The problem started last fall. A mechanic replaced only one actuator (the easiest one to get to) for $350. Now we can regulate the temperature on the passenger side in the front. The other ducts only blow hot air. It will cost $3500 to replace the others. The parts are only $80. For now we just drive with the windows open."

Anonymous A., CO (2011 Dodge Grand Caravan Mainstreet 3.6-L V6)
Heater system

"Ac not changing to heat"

Anonymous, (2011 Dodge Grand Caravan Mainstreet 3.6-L V6)

/ 5

What Owners Say

"front driver side brake pads wore out over 2x as fast as the other 3 brake pads. Assumed a problem with the caliper so replaced this caliper and both front brakes."

Anonymous A., ID (2011 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.6-L V6)
Premature brake wear

"This vehicle seemed to need full brake replacement, calipers and rotors etc) every two years."

/ 5

What Owners Say

Shocks or struts

"I need struts replaced especially noticeable when driving around town at slow speeds."

Anonymous A., IA (2011 Dodge Grand Caravan Express 3.6-L V6)

Noises/Leaks

Squeaks, rattles, wind noises, seals and/or weather stripping, air and water leaks.

/ 5

What Owners Say

Air or water leaks

"Front passenger window regulator broke, leaving window down 2" from top. Limped car home. Front driver window regulator broke, dropping window fully down. Replaced regulator, but door panel is also broke. New regulator broke again, most likely the window is hanging up on the broken door panel. Replace window regulator but no longer use drivers side window, which means can no longer use drive thru for fast food, and is awkward whenever someone wants us to roll down the window to talk to us."

Anonymous A., ID (2011 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.6-L V6)
