    Owner Reported Trouble Spots

The Reliability score is based on our latest subscriber survey of 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 owners. The owner comments describe problems respondents experienced with this vehicle.

    Climate System

AC compressor, blower (fan) motor, condenser, evaporator, heater system, automatic climate system, electrical failure, refrigerant leakage.

    What Owners Say

    Automatic climate control

"My A/C was blowing air but not cool air. I took it to a local mechanic, and he fixed it, but it only cooled for a couple of weeks. I took it to another mechanic who was recommended by a friend and he was able to repair it. He had to remove the dash to remove and replace the defective parts. In total, I spent over $1100. That was at the end of June. All is working well. I cannot remember what he told me the problem was. Sorry."

    Anonymous, TX (2010 Dodge Ram 1500 ST 5.7-L V8)
    Other climate system problem

"Actuator for recirculation door had broken gear. Dodge/Chrysler actuators known for this issue. Truck has five actuators for climate system. This actuator is behind reinforcing bar under dash, required removal of entire dash to access. Required two weeks at dealer for repair for a relatively inexpensive part."

    Anonymous A., CA (2010 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie 5.7-L V8)

""The A/C doesn't work, and because we don't spend a lot of time in the truck, we neve had it fixed.""

    Anonymous A., MI (2010 Dodge Ram 1500 Unsure 5.7-L V8)

    Exhaust

Muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, heat shields, leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Exhaust manifold

"The ticking sound is most noticeable when starting. I had heard it is common for these engines to break manifold bolts . It was a recall item but the Dodge dealer won't do anything about it as my mileage is too high"

    Anonymous A., AB (2010 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT 5.7-L V8)
    Other/unsure

"Needed a new water pump and oil lines were leaking. Also needed new struts"

    Anonymous, AB (2010 Dodge Ram 1500 TRX 5.7-L V8)

    In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

    What Owners Say

    CD player

"The CD player quit ejecting CDs, so I am no longer able to use it."

    Anonymous, TX (2010 Dodge Ram 1500 ST 5.7-L V8)
    Other in-car electronics problem

"Touch screen for the infotainment system does not respond when touched. Unable to select any on screen prompts including settings, saved channels, and navigation. Appears that the touch screen is dead, or grossly uncalibrated. When it first started going bad, hard taps seemed to wake it up, but now that is ineffective."

    Anonymous A., CA (2010 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie 5.7-L V8)

    Engine Electrical

Alternator, starter, hybrid battery replacement, hybrid battery related systems, regular battery, battery cables, engine harness, coil, ignition switch, electronic ignition, spark plugs and wires failure, auto stop/start.

    What Owners Say

    Auto stop/start malfunction

"The engine would stop suddenly ( usually after the remote starter was used). Then it would eventually restart after 5 or 10 minutes. The was mostly an issue during the winter. My Mechanic replaces a crankshaft location sensor and it has seemed to stop this year."

    Anonymous A., AB (2010 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT 5.7-L V8)

    Paint/Trim

Paint (fading, chalking, peeling, or cracking), loose interior or exterior trim or moldings, rust.
