    "A code came on and when I had it checked at the Ford dealership, it indicated an engine failure. Online I found it had happened to many of these vehicles and owners complained that the car hadnt been recalled for this known failure. Luckily, I had purchased an extended warranty and it was still in effect. Otherwise, I would have been out over $6,000, line many of the other car owners. The car seems to be driving well now, and I have a 36,000 mile warranty on the new engine."

Ford replaced engine at 90000 miles because it was under warranty and had a 'known' issue with the turbo charge engine. The car was under warranty for 100,000 miles. Transmission went out at 102000. If transmission had failed 2000 miles sooner Ford would have replaced. That 2000 miles would have cost me 8K at Ford. Went to a private shop and they rebuilt it for 4K."

    A damaged or missing bushing may prevent the vehicle from shifting into the intended gear, and cause the vehicle to move in an unexpected direction. Additionally, the vehicle may roll after the driver selects the 'Park' position. Either scenario increases the risk of a crash or injury.
    Summary:
    Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2013-2019 Escape, 2013-2018 C-Max, 2013-2016 Fusion, 2013-2021 Transit Connect, and 2015-2018 Edge vehicles. The bushing that attaches the shifter cable to the transmission may degrade or detach.
    What should you do:
    Dealers will replace the under hood shift bushing and add a protective cap over the shift cable bushing, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters, informing owners of the safety risk, were mailed July 1, 2022. Remedy parts are expected to be available in 4th Quarter 2022.     A ruptured front brake hose will cause a brake fluid leak, lengthening the distance needed to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
    Summary:
    Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015-2018 Ford Edge and 2016-2018 Lincoln MKX vehicles. The front brake hoses may rupture prematurely.
    What should you do:
    Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front brake hoses with the new hoses that have a revised braid material, free of charge. Parts are not currently available. An interim letter notifying owners of the safety risk was mailed September 21, 2020. A second letter will be sent once parts are available, which is expected to begin April 15, 2021. Vehicles with shorter door striker bolts fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 206, "Door Locks and Door Retention Components" potentially resulting in the doors opening in the event of a crash.
