Anonymous, IN (2019 Ford Edge SEL 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)

"The check engine light came on and I was over 30 miles away from home. This repair shop was a block away and I stopped in. They ran a check to see what code was the problem. It showed problem with emissions system. I have an appointment this week to take in for service. The gentleman cleared the code and said to see if it comes back on because I just filled up with gas and he said sometimes it could just be that. Since I have a college student over 5 hours away Im taking in to have it looked at because I dont need something happening out on the road."

Anonymous, CA (2019 Ford Edge SE)

    Transmission Major

Transmission rebuild or replacement, torque converter, premature clutch replacement.

    What Owners Say

    Transmission rebuild or replacement

"Vehicle lost power 100% out of the blue while driving 75 to 80 mph on turnpike in three lanes of traffic with no immediate option to change lanes or pull over this was a significant safety issue/concern. There is absolutely no warning of the failure and getting the problem identified/diagnosed/resolved has been an ongoing challenge. Independent mechanic/car technician we work with genuinely cares about the vehicle and the customer and has tried to take care of it for us however because of our ongoing concerns and research and discovery of other owners of the same vehicle type experiencing similar situation we have made the decision to proceed with Ford Dealership making the repair the minimal cost it has been $9800 but the bill keeps going up and will continue to do so if we continue to own the car, no one at the dealership seems to care. They shrug their shoulders and have smug look on their face when talking about our concerns about the vehicle , we purchased the vehicle through a fleet ownership knowing it was fully serviced 100% on time every time by the Ford dealership at the time of the original purchase brand new this was a one of five Ford vehicles purchased at the same time after 20 or more years of making similar purchases Four and five at a time every year primarily through Ford no one at Ford dealership locally has given our concern a second thought it is extremely frustrating and visually disappointing. That accompany is big as Ford Motor Company can have such utter disregard for client/customers/car owners who have been brand loyal ."

Anonymous, KS (2019 Ford Edge Titanium 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)

"There was hesitation when accelerating. Took it to repair shop and they swapped out transmission. That fixed the problem."

Anonymous, IN (2019 Ford Edge Titanium 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)

"Transmission would downshift very quickly and got worse over time. This affected acceleration and gas mileage. It started in the summer of 2023 and the transmission was replaced with a new Ford transmission on March 25, 2024. The vehicle now shifts as it should, perfectly. The cost of relacement was $6900."

Anonymous A., NY (2019 Ford Edge Titanium 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)

"Had to replace transmission it started after the warranty expired. Car working ok now"

Anonymous, CA (2019 Ford Edge SE)

    Exhaust

Muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, heat shields, leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Other/unsure

"The lug nuts are capped and subject to rust, especially wet winters and salt on roads. Consequently the nut rusts under the cap and forces the cap to expand and increase in size. This can result in the inability of the included wrench to not fit which could be a problem in the event of a flat tire. So the nuts have to be replaced after 4 winters. Far better to have chromed nuts, than capped ones."

They also have not paid for my month of a rental car. The car had just over 36000 miles when this happened. I will not buy another Ford."

Anonymous A., SC (2019 Ford Edge 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)

"At 75,000 miles piston 1 had developed a crack in the wall and had a cooling leak into the piston. Required a new engine long block ($9,000). Warranty ended at 60,000 miles. My relative worked for Ford and found out this was a known problem in the 2019 and 2021 Ecoboost engine. Ford modified the engine block for 2022 models. When I called Ford customer service and discussed the issue with them, they finally gave me $2,600 toward the repair. It was explained to me that this was out of warranty and not a recall because it was not a safety issue. It should also be noted that since the late 1990's if have had all my work done on my cars by the dealership and have been very satisfied. I ordered this car, and it was a May 2019 build. You may contact me if you would like more information."
