Anonymous, WA (2020 Ford Escape Hybrid Hybrid Titanium 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"I suspect there is a parasitic load that drains the battery. When this happens it causes various problems with the electrical system and devices that depend on it like the remote start, keyless entry, etc. we are now on our third 12V battery in the vehicle."

Anonymous A., AB (2020 Ford Escape Hybrid Hybrid Titanium 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"vehicle was dead. would not start"

Anonymous, MB (2020 Ford Escape Hybrid Hybrid Titanium 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Body control module

"This caused my self parking function not to operate, and would cause random glitches such as locking the car up and unable to start so it needed to be towed, randomly the stability control to deactivate and lots of really annoying small problems."

Anonymous, IL (2020 Ford Escape Hybrid Hybrid Titanium 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Interior lights

"Battery was dead, yet really for no reason. Needed to get it jump started twice. They now saw the battery is low, why?? should not be as it is still a fairly new vehicle"

Anonymous A., (2020 Ford Escape Hybrid Hybrid Titanium 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Remote engine starter

"I found that the battery was dead, felt it should be fine as it is only 4 years old"

Anonymous A., (2020 Ford Escape Hybrid Hybrid Titanium 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

    In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

    What Owners Say

    Display screen freezes up

"This problem occurs rarely. When I stop the car and then restart it, the issue goes away."

Anonymous, MD (2020 Ford Escape Hybrid Hybrid Titanium 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Display screen goes blank

"Screen consistently will be blank or freezes at start up and have to restart car or reboot system to even see the back up camera"

Anonymous, CA (2020 Ford Escape Hybrid Hybrid Titanium 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"occasionally the display screen goes blank. When this happens, there are no gps of radio functions available except the radio volume (no compass either)"

Anonymous A., NC (2020 Ford Escape Hybrid Hybrid Titanium 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    In-dash navigation system (GPS)

"It seems to happen during the day time hours at least weekly--the GPS screen reads GPS with a red line diagonally through it. The GPS map is not accurate and it gives me incorrect directions when the screen reads GPS with a diagonal red line. This is not safe when I'm traveling on a trip. Sometimes it is accurate, then it changes and goes screwy. The lack of accurate or the lack of GPS happens whether or not I've put in an address I would like to go to. The screen is incorrect until I turn the car off and restart it."

Anonymous, MD (2020 Ford Escape Hybrid Hybrid Titanium 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"There have been many recalls for this vehicle."

Anonymous, NY (2020 Ford Escape Hybrid SE 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"For several years the driver's side power window stops working correctly. When you try to close the window it goes all the way up and then 2/3 of the way back down. I've brought it in to Ford on multiple occasions, but it always happens again and then randomly stops. It's very annoying!"

    What Owners Say

    Other brakes problem

"At first, I was in the need to buy 2020 Ford Escape Titanium because my 2012 Ford Escape was not reliable to drive any further. When I first test drove this 2020 Ford Escape SUV, I was shocked to discover the brake is very touchy. Its no wonder the dealer salesperson who sat next to me whose neck did not become injured due to the sudden jerk due to slightly applied brake. This car is either very zippy and I love the performance overall except for an extremely touchy brake. I had to sell this car back to the same dealership soon as my ordered 2024 Ford Maverick XL truck finally arrived. Thank you."

Reliability indicates how models have performed in the past, providing the basis for predicting how the vehicles will hold up in the year ahead. These charts provide the most comprehensive reliability information available to consumers. Based on information received from our latest subscriber survey for over 300,000 vehicles, our reliability history charts give you a rundown on how 2000 through 2024 vehicles are holding up in 20 potential trouble spots, ranging from the engine, transmission, electric motor, EV charging, and brakes to power equipment and the electrical accessories. NA indicates that we did not receive a large enough sample size to provide data for a specific year. An X indicates that the vehicle was not manufactured for a specific year.
