I took it to my regular mechanic and hes said he thought it just had a leak in the light over the hatch. I went onto rock auto and ordered the part and I mechanic put it on for a total cost of $95 a significantly lower price than the $600 a body shop quoted me and no more leaks."

    Exhaust

Muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, heat shields, leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Other/unsure

"New Batteryfourth during its life. Totally unacceptable warranty. Often vehicle would not start all of a sudden. They changed the battery during warranty wonder If they did. Lived in country then so totally dependent upon car. The contracted out service during warranty did all they could and twice had vehicle towed into Victoria via a ferry and highway drive from Sakt Spring. I became more and more Concerned as old type charger was useless and their digital machine not capable of showing anything. Even paid for another dealer to run digital check to no avail. Contacted My dealer Glen Oak Ford in Victoria, BC. They said they would do nothing because I had a Ford warranty. I talked to an executive at FORD BACK EAST and he told me dealers were responsible not Ford Canada. I would probably have bought a Ford Mustang but never ever Ford again if they pass the buck like they did. I am a marketing graduate from UBC and I was totally nonplussed by such attention to their consumers. At that point I decided there was absolutely no way I would ever buy a Ford again no matter how good a product they produced. They backed out of their warranty without a care! The first thing I did was to buy another new and powerful battery as diagnosed by an independent repair shop and have not had ever hadtrouble since by not starting although realize the car is hard on batteries and must replace every few years. It suddenly became reliable from totally unreliable vehicle as sold new to me with in reality no backup for their customers! As far as I am concerned they should not be in business with the attitude shown to me and my expensive purchase when I Truly needed help badly. Allen"

Reliability indicates how models have performed in the past, providing the basis for predicting how the vehicles will hold up in the year ahead. These charts provide the most comprehensive reliability information available to consumers. Based on information received from our latest subscriber survey for over 300,000 vehicles, our reliability history charts give you a rundown on how 2000 through 2024 vehicles are holding up in 20 potential trouble spots, ranging from the engine, transmission, electric motor, EV charging, and brakes to power equipment and the electrical accessories. NA indicates that we did not receive a large enough sample size to provide data for a specific year. An X indicates that the vehicle was not manufactured for a specific year.

A damaged or missing bushing may prevent the vehicle from shifting into the intended gear, and cause the vehicle to move in an unexpected direction. Additionally, the vehicle may roll after the driver selects the 'Park' position. Either scenario increases the risk of a crash or injury.
    Summary:
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2013-2019 Escape, 2013-2018 C-Max, 2013-2016 Fusion, 2013-2021 Transit Connect, and 2015-2018 Edge vehicles. The bushing that attaches the shifter cable to the transmission may degrade or detach.
    What should you do:
Dealers will replace the under hood shift bushing and add a protective cap over the shift cable bushing, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters, informing owners of the safety risk, were mailed July 1, 2022. Remedy parts are expected to be available in 4th Quarter 2022. Owner notification letters were mailed October 27, 2022. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S43.

In the event of a crash, if the driver's knee air bag does not inflate as intended, the driver has an increased risk of injury.
    Summary:
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2016 Ford Escape vehicles. The driver's knee airbag modules installed in these vehicles were produced without the inflator gas generant material, and, as a result, the air bags may not inflate properly in the event of a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."
    What should you do:
Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace driver's knee air bag, free of charge. The recall began on August 8, 2017. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 17C11.
