Transmission Major
Transmission rebuild or replacement, torque converter, premature clutch replacement.
What Owners Say
"Transmission began slipping/jerking at shifts. Had to wait three weeks for service appointment, once there vehicle sat on service lot for two weeks before assessed, once assessed that transmission required complete replacement under warranty was told no new transmissions were available for months, alternative was a rebuilt transmission that would take only weeks to arrive. Ultimately was without the vehicle for several weeks in order to ultimately receive a rebuilt transmission in a vehicle with at that time around 20k miles. All transpired about the time of peak parts and labor shortages post-COVID."

Anonymous, TX (2019 Ford Expedition Limited 3.5-L V6 turbo)"The shifting became very soft and unpredictable. Felt like vehicle might fail due to transmission failure. Had replaced on second visit to Ford dealership. Had second opinion from our trusted AAMCO mechanic who said clutch was failing. First visit to Ford dealership said all it needed was reprogramming and to drive it for 1000 miles. That did nothing in our opinion. I then went to a different dealership and they immediately got me in and replaced the transmission. Fortunately I purchased the extended warranty so my cost was only $100 vs the $12,000 it would have been."

"Transmission completely broke down. Started slipping severely, and within 1 day bacame undriveable. Ford had to replace the entire transmission, which they did under Drivetrain Warranty, at zero cost to me."
