""The gas door actuator broke, without it the check engine light will come on. So I took it into the dealership since I have a Ford extended warranty. But, Ford does not cover this part on its original or extended warranty. I tried to order the part but there were too many variants so I had the dealer install, for $626.22!""

    Anonymous A., AR (2021 Ford F-150 Hybrid King Ranch 3.5-L V6 hybrid)
    Seat controls - power

""The adjustable Air bladder fully inflated on its own, then one burst. It took 3 different module units before I had a semi-functional seat. I say semi, because Ford has a known (but apparently not important) issue with the programming on these modules.""

    What Owners Say

    Body control module

""My truck was in the shop for EIGHT MONTHS while they tried to figure out what was wrong. EIGHT MONTHS. The eventually just quit trying, they told me, until I started yelling at people. They had to "get help from corporate" somehow. Apparently they replaced the BCM, reprogrammed the BCM, did it a few more times. The dealer paperwork for my truck stacks nearly two inches high. It started with the "Check Engine" light and a few other things acting odd: AC wouldn't cool. Door locks wouldn't unlock. Screen would just stay black. It was honestly a nightmare and the worst experience I've ever had both with a dealer and a vehicle. At this point, it had less than 36,000 miles on it. While it was in the shop, the vehicle passed its 3 year old mark which then made problems even more complicated because it was no longer under warranty. Ford eventually comp'ed me an extended warranty. The truck is honestly built terrible. "Ford Touch" is just a marketing slogan now. And the dealer service was just terrible. This is the original list I gave them when I took it in for service: - tear in drivers seat - passenger side controls for seat massage do not work - passenger side exterior door handle does not auto-unlock, requires manual use of FOB to unlock - loud rattle in center of roof when hitting bump or music with base - "Configure connected services" menu option does not work - grinding/metal sound when slowing vehicle, with brakes or without brakes - occasional extremely hard shift that's so aggressive it feels like something collided with the vehicle (not reproducible) - dash message complaint about 12 v charge - service engine light is lit - Computer shows frequent message on display "Lost connection to network"""

Anonymous, ON (2021 Ford F-150 Hybrid XLT 3.5-L V6 hybrid)

    Transmission Major

Transmission rebuild or replacement, torque converter, premature clutch replacement.

    What Owners Say

    Transmission rebuild or replacement

"When initially purchased in 2021, the 10speed transmission hard shifted from 1st to 3rd gear. Ultimately the transmission was replaced by Ford, however, the same issue occurred again. The transmission was ultimately repaired with software updates. Recently 7/2025, the transmission overheated (271 degrees) while going over mountain passes and struggled to shift gears while the temperature remained hot. Just had it repaired by Ford and apparently the temperature sensor broke and pieces of it entered the throttle body. Not sure if this repair will have ultimately fixed the issue it had or not as I picked it up today."

Anonymous, AZ (2021 Ford F-150 Hybrid Platinum 3.5-L V6 hybrid)
