    In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

    What Owners Say

    Apple CarPlay

"CarPlay often disconnects itself, regardless of whether it is plugged in or doing Bluetooth. I dont know if its Fords fault or Apples, but can be disconcerting, like when using it for navigation."

    Anonymous A., ME (2022 Ford F-150 Hybrid Lariat 3.5-L V6 hybrid)
    Display screen freezes up

"This seems to correct itself with updates that the manufacturer sends."

    Anonymous A., FL (2022 Ford F-150 Hybrid King Ranch 3.5-L V6 hybrid)
    Display screen goes blank

"I was driving on the interstate and the truck engine turned off, the display screens went blank. I coasted off the highway safely. When I finally touched the brake the truck automatically shifted to park mode and everything went dead. I waited a few minutes and the truck turned on. I took it to the Ford dealership, where I was informed that this has happened enough that the manufacturer developed a protocol regarding the issue. Apparently, they reset the BCM, Body Control Monitor."

    Anonymous A., IL (2022 Ford F-150 Hybrid Platinum 3.5-L V6 hybrid)

"Occasionally when first engaging the vehicle in reverse, the back up camera fails to engage and the screen some times goes blank."

Anonymous, AZ (2022 Ford F-150 Hybrid Platinum 3.5-L V6 hybrid)
External music device interface (e.g., smart phone, MP3 player)

"The truck would not recognize devices plugged into the USB-A port. A software update was required."

Anonymous, NJ (2022 Ford F-150 Hybrid Platinum 3.5-L V6 hybrid)
    In-dash navigation system (GPS)

"Lost the GPS and cruise control on my last trip. Taking it to my dealer on Monday to check it out"

    Anonymous A., TX (2022 Ford F-150 Hybrid Platinum 3.5-L V6 hybrid)
    Other in-car electronics problem

"Two times the sound system starting blasting deafening noise. Restarting the car did not fix it; it had to sit overnight. This apparently was a known problem, and a software update fixed it."

Anonymous, NJ (2022 Ford F-150 Hybrid Platinum 3.5-L V6 hybrid)
    Phone pairing (e.g., Bluetooth)

"This is a problem that keeps popping up... sometimes my phone connects right away and then sometimes it does not and requires shutting off the car and restarting, or sometimes it may connect later."

    Anonymous A., FL (2022 Ford F-150 Hybrid King Ranch 3.5-L V6 hybrid)

"Pairing with phone occasionally will not sync up either with Bluetooth or a cord."

Anonymous, AZ (2022 Ford F-150 Hybrid Platinum 3.5-L V6 hybrid)

    Drive System

Driveshaft or axle, CV joint, differential, transfer case, four-wheel-drive/all-wheel-drive components, driveline vibration, electrical failure, traction control, electronic stability control.

    What Owners Say

    Driveshaft or axle

"Last fall there was a squeeking sound, a asked the mecanic that was changing my tires to check my brakes because could ear a squeek, he said it was the shaft that connect the wheel to the diffentiel that was broke and go see the dealer because i could loose a wheel and Ford should know about it because he have seen many that broke like that. Dealer kept my truck for a couple of days...time to receive the part"

    Anonymous A., QC (2022 Ford F-150 Hybrid Lariat 3.5-L V6 hybrid)

"Recall. Stranded on the road 3 times. Had to have vehicle and the travel trailer that was attached towed to dealership twice. 4 dealership visits between Feb. 5, 2024 and March 28, 2024. Ford does not have a true FIX for the issue. Ford service departments have repaired it twice, but this is not a true solution."

    Anonymous A., TX (2022 Ford F-150 Hybrid King Ranch 3.5-L V6 hybrid)

"Axles end nut or retainer bolt broke off; no safety issue, said Ford, but disconcerting nevertheless. Wiring harness issues are also disconcerting, but probably result from having the hybrid (Powerboost). Generally were pleased with the vehicle, just a bit worried about long term reliability."

    Anonymous A., ME (2022 Ford F-150 Hybrid Lariat 3.5-L V6 hybrid)

    EV Battery

    What Owners Say

Electric/hybrid battery pack malfunction (didn't need replacement)

"After three visits to the shop for a total of nearly five weeks over the span of about 9 months (given a free loaner for most of it), a replaced alternator, and a replaced belt tensioner, they finally found a loose connection in the main hybrid battery system. Thankfully no problems since."

    Anonymous, (2022 Ford F-150 Hybrid Lariat 3.5-L V6 hybrid)
    Other/unsure

"Exhaust resonator exhibited an annoying rattle when r gauzy was hot on hot days when internal combustion engine cycled on and off. Ford had no solution, had component replaced myself at independent chop for $250. Also, truck had some minor trim problems (wheel well liner loose, wipers misaligned, etc. and a few software updates and recalls) early on, but has operated well and extremely reliable since. I think I would purchase again."

Reliability indicates how models have performed in the past, providing the basis for predicting how the vehicles will hold up in the year ahead. These charts provide the most comprehensive reliability information available to consumers. Based on information received from our latest subscriber survey for over 300,000 vehicles, our reliability history charts give you a rundown on how 2000 through 2024 vehicles are holding up in 20 potential trouble spots, ranging from the engine, transmission, electric motor, EV charging, and brakes to power equipment and the electrical accessories. NA indicates that we did not receive a large enough sample size to provide data for a specific year. An X indicates that the vehicle was not manufactured for a specific year.
