"This vehicle has the roughest gear changes of any vehicle that I have ever owned. The transmission was rebuilt at the dealership (Ford would not authorize a replacement) and the transmission is still very rough. I would not recommend this vehicle only because of the transmission problems."

"The 2018 F-150 is known for having a "3rd Gear Rough Shifting" problem. My truck has it. I had the transmission serviced early out of concern for the shifting. "At about 128000 kilometres I started hearing excessive road/mechanical noise in the front end but I couldnt discern which side was louder. I brought it up to the service agent at the dealership but when I got it back they stated that the mechanics had heard nothing and no problems were identified. The sound worsened and when I brought it back for its regular maintenance it was then reported that my driver side front bearings were broken and needed replacing and I would also require an alignment after that was replaced. That seemed to make a significant improvement but only for a couple of weeks while I was on a trip but when I brought the truck back for its regular maintenance I was told that there were no problems identified or loud noises heard so I continued driving the vehicle until its next regular maintenance and once again informed the dealership that the noise was worse and once they checked it I was told that the truck was not safe to drive off the premises and that the right front bearings were nonfunctional and the front tires were unevenly worn and needed immediate replacement. I had them do the bearing and front end repairs but went to another retailer to buy new tires (all four) as well as an alignment. Ford or the dealership have not compensated me for the increased damage caused by not identifying the bearing issue nor have they compensated me for the damage caused to the tires that needed to be replaced because of the delay in diagnosis and repair. I wont even get into the unnecessary exposure to the dangerous situation this issue exposed me and my passengers to especially because most of my travels had been highway driving over long distances."

""We were driving on a major country road when a large gravel truck passed us in the oncoming lane. I heard a loud bang and assumed we were hit by a stone underneath the truck. Simultaneously the 4X4 warning light appeared on the dash. Also, I heard scraping noise in the front brakes like a stone was lodged in the rotor. The insurance inspection ruled that there was no evidence of a stone strike and the damage to the 4X4 system was failure of a transfer case module which triggered a fuse to blow. It cost approximately $1300 to repair covered mostly by my extended warranty that I purchased. I still believe that a stone strike caused the whole problem.""

I was going to have it towed to the dealer, but the dealer was backed up with work so I towed it to a recommended mechanic. He diagnosed the problem as bad spark plugs, replaced them and all is well so far. This seemed way too early for spark plug failure."
