    Road Test

The Focus has an accomplished ride and good braking. It is agile and fun-to-drive, and it handles like a sports car. However, while overall crash protection is good, the Focus received a Poor in the IIHS side-crash test when tested without its optional side airbags. The Focus' 2005 freshening brought two new engines and a revised interior. But the quality of interior materials is low grade. Also, fuel economy is unimpressive.
