"This vehicles BCM was damaged by moisture leaking from a cracked window washer fluid reservoir, which followed its wiring harness, through the firewall and into the BCM chassis. My mechanic saw the leak and replaced the window washer reservoir to stop the leaking. Prior to this leak discovery, one of the two low-beam headlamps stopped working. Bulb replacement did not fix it. Volt/Ohm meter testing showed no electrical power to the low-beam lamp connector. Within a month, the other low-beam lamp suffered the same fate: no electrical power to either low-beam connector. The only fix is to repair or replace the BCM, which Ford will only replace and reprogram at a cost of nearly $4,000.00for a 14 year old vehicle. And because of their faulty engineering of a fluid reservoir. Im researching having this vehicles BCM repaired rather than replaced. PITA. No more domestic vehicle brands for me during my remaining lifetime. And if they exist in heaven (and why wouldnt they as frequently as they die), I wont drive one there either. Thanks, God, but Ill walk this timeand next."

"The Fuel Injection sensors needed replacement and it was covered by Easy Care Warranty, which I found through CR and I've had that extended warranty for the life of the car so it didn't seem like a big deal because all was covered. But if I did ot have Easy Car Warranty I probably would have been upset."
