    In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

    What Owners Say

    Apple CarPlay

"Sometimes Apple CarPlay doesnt connect. It works fine most of the time, but occasionally doesnt work."

Anonymous A., CA (2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid Lariat 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Backup or other camera/sensors

"The problem started within days of getting the vehicle. The backup camera doesnt work intermittently. Ford replaced the camera once, but that didnt solve the problem. It appears to be some sort of connection issue. I cannot predict when it will work or not. When it works, it works great, but it doesnt work approximately half the time."

Anonymous A., CA (2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid Lariat 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Display screen freezes up

"Screen froze. Dealer fixed with software update"

Anonymous, MA (2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid Lariat 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"The screen freezes and goes black. This seems to be related, as best as I can tell, to having an iPhone connected to Apple Car Play at the same time that same phone is connected to the standard infotainment via bluetooth. First thing I do after starting the truck is plug in my Iphone to the usb port. From the very beginning, I noticed there would sometimes be a significant lag in all the electronics starting up and cycling through their processes, if you will. I then began waiting until the native Ford electronics were fully up before plugging in my Iphone. Either way, the screen would sometimes freeze or go black. Not every day. Maybe not even every week. But at least once a month. When I noticed that the bluetooth was attempting to connect at the same time the Apple Car Play was attempting to load, and the screen was alternating between the ACP and native Ford screen, I then disconnected my Iphone from the bluetooth Ford. It has seemed to work better since, though it has only been a week or so since the last screen freeze. These freezes are significant enough that I pull over to fix them. VERY annoying, especially in a new vehicle. Other than that, there have been two recalls so far, both for electronic updates, one of which I have not yet had time to complete. I very much like the truck otherwise, though some of the interior/parts seem a bit cheap. At least I don't get upset when the inevitable wear and tear occur since it is not a $60K luxury vehicle. It's my first truck, it is nimble, and - but for the electronics - I really do like it very much."

    Display screen goes blank

    "Please see prior comment."

Anonymous, TX (2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid Lariat 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
External music device interface (e.g., smart phone, MP3 player)

"Requires usb connection for phone that does not always connects to infotainment system and sometimes disconnects the bass while driving or completely disconnects system."

Anonymous A., NY (2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid XL 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"The infotainment system freezes. Sometimes, nothing operates, and sometimes, only the radio works. The map display also stops working. The only fix I have found for this is to complete a master system reset. Once the reset is completed, the phones and other system steps must be set up again. This is the only weakness of an otherwise outstanding vehicle."

Anonymous A., ON (2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid XLT 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    In-dash navigation system (GPS)

"Nab system has no memory for recall of history"

Anonymous A., GA (2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid Lariat 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Other in-car electronics problem

"Maverick hybrid is approved to be a four wheels down recreational towing vehicle, however the start battery system goes dead after several hours with no indication of a problem. Result: maverick will not start without start assistance"

Anonymous A., GA (2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid Lariat 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Radio

"The radio and Android Auto randomly stop working. The only fix I have found is to complete a system reset. This also affects Google Maps display not functioning. This is part of the problem I have listed in the infotainment electronics question previously asked."

Anonymous A., ON (2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid XLT 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"Sirius XM favorites display went missing; solved with software update."

Anonymous, VA (2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid Lariat 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"wouldn't stay on the selected channel after shut off"

Anonymous, MD (2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid Lariat 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Speakers

"Intermittently, no sound will come through the speakers. It happens 1-2 times every month. More of a nuisance than anything."

Anonymous, AZ (2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid Lariat 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"Once the speakers started putting out loud static even with the truck turned off and the key removed from the truck. I had to do about a dozen hard resets on the radio. It finally reset and has worked OK since the one time. I took it to the dealer to check it out but they couldn't get to it in a timely manner so I am just driving it. I love the truck and I plan to buy another hybrid Maverick in the future."

    Electrical Accessories

Cruise control, clock, warning lights, body control module, keyless entry, wiper motor or washer, tire pressure monitor, interior or exterior lights, horn, gauges, 12V power plug, USB ports, alarm or security system, remote engine start, heated or cooled seats, heated steering wheel, headlights, automatic headlights, automatic wipers, wireless charging pad.

    What Owners Say

    12V battery

"Two times, since taking delivery of the Maverick XL Hybrid last fall (Oct., 2023), the vehicle has stopped operating because of a low 12v battery charge. The first time, the dealership came and jumped the battery and the 2nd time I jumped it myself. The problem was too much demand on the battery (delays that keep lights on after exiting the vehicle, using the radio while the vehicle is parked, built-in system checks, cold weather in conjunction with short trips, etc.)"

Anonymous, (2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid XL 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Other electrical system problem

"Fan and infotainments system fades and stops while driving and restarts."

Anonymous A., NY (2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid XL 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"Had 3 instances truck completely dead. Then after dealer fixed, it lost all acceleration and went to limp mode. Dealer made software fix."
