    What Owners Say

    Android Auto

""I have never successfully paired the Maverick with Android Auto. I tried connected via USB, downloading the Ford Connect app. I need to take to Ford before the warranty expires and have them walk me through this.""

    Display screen freezes up

"The Display screen and Backup display (Same Monitor) freeze up at times, not allowing me to control the displayno reset function known to repair without turning the vehicle off."

    Other in-car electronics problem

"Started about a year ago. Truck indicated that the FordPass system was disabled because the battery was low. It wasn't"

Anonymous, CA (2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid XLT 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Radio

"Intermittently, the radio audio (not any of the controls) ceases to function. The only sound that the unit will make is an electronic click when adjusting the volume knob. No stations will be sent to the speakers. Had the unit (FINALLY it glitched near the dealer and I took it in when in failure mode, so they applied a service bulletin. This reduced, but did NOT eliminate the issue."

    What Owners Say

    12V battery

""The 12 volt battery does not always maintain a full charge. The 12 volt battery powers the body management system and if it gets too low a voltage it will not allow the vehicle to start, even thou the engine starts with power from the vehicle high voltage drive battery. This was a very real problem during the winter here in North Dakota. All the accessories in the vehicle get power to operate from the 12 volt battery. Power steering pump, brake pressure pump, coolant circulating pump, heated steering wheel, heated seats, air conditioning compressor (which operates when the defrost is turned on). Many Maverick Hybrid owners have had problems with the 12 volt battery system. Several times during the winter my truck would not start because the 12 volt battery had low voltage. I purchased a "jump pack" so as not to get stranded. all that is necessary is to hook up the jump pack and it starts right up, it provides the additional voltage for the body management system to work. The Ford dealer replaced the 390 cold cranking amp (flood) battery with a new 470 cod cranking amp (flood) battery under warranty. The dealer said they were having a lot of similar problems with other Maverick Hybrids. After I discussed the issue in detail with the service advisor they ordered a Ford 540 cold cranking amp (AGM) battery which they traded for the battery they had put in under warranty and the dealer did this for customer care at no cost to me. I had no other issues with the 12 volt battery for the rest of the winter or since the new AGM battery. Ford Motor Company knows they have a problem with the 12 volt battery and/or the charging system that keeps it fully charged and they say they are working on a fix. I like this truck a lot and hope they get this issue resolved. From What I read on social media I think it is an issue with a lot of the Maverick hybrids, but even more so during the winter in the colder parts of the country. BTW, when the 12 volt battery is at low voltage the body management system will shut down many safety systems so it is also a safety issue.""

Anonymous A., ND (2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid XLT 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"12v lead acid battery would not hold a charge. Had to use a trickle battery charger if it sat and not driven more than 2 days. Ford replaced it under warranty at no charge with a new lead acid battery. They would not install an AMG battery that they use in other models as I requested."

Anonymous, WI (2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid XLT 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

""Dealer replaced the 12V battery under warranty because the FordPass app is unable to connect to the vehicle, saying it is in "deep sleep" mode due to insufficient battery power. However it starts and runs fine. Many Maverick Hybrid owners have experienced this problem. It may be an issue with how the FordPass app communicates with the vehicle. Some owners report success by replacing the "flooded" 12V battery with an AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) battery.""

Anonymous A., CO (2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid Lariat 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"12v battery does not retain charge well over time. even with normal driving I need to put the battery on the charger about once a month. I also flat tow the vehicle behind my RV. when doing so I must start the engine every two hours (generall when I get fuel) until the gasoline engine stops charging the battery. and I must charge the battery overnight after a day of towing behind the RV."

Anonymous A., CO (2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid Lariat 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Body control module

""The real issue is the 12 volt battery low voltage. The body management system is powered by the 12 volt battery and when the 12 volt battery has low voltage because the "DC to DC" converter fails keep it fully charged then the BMS will not allow the vehicle to "start" even the engine is started from the high voltage drive battery. The BMS also controls many safety systems that do not work properly when the 12 volt system is at low voltage. Remote door locks may not work, cab lights may not work. Remote start will not work. The real issue is that there is a problem with keeping the 12 volt battery at the proper voltage. This may be from too large of a load (more so in winter), a vampire drain (unknown), or the system not properly designed to keep the battery charged. Ford Motor Company says they know there is a problem and were to have a fix out by the end of the first quarter of 2025. Now they say by the end of the second quarter of 2025.""

Anonymous, NJ (2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid XLT 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"Three months after I bought it, I had to jump start it. 8 to 10 months later, I had to jump start it again. They claim the recalls I had on were going to fix it."

Anonymous, MI (2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid XLT 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"The car would flash as warning and lose power and say to get immediate service. I could turn it off and wait then turn it back on and it would work. It only occurred when I had to suddenly brake once and twice when I quickly accelerated. They said it was a problem with the dampener and it was repaired under warranty. It took them two weeks to repair"

After tire balancing did not fix the issue, took it to the dealer who diagnosed the problem as bad drive shafts and wheel bearings. repairs were completed by dealer as Warranty repair so no cost but I was without the vehicle for 3 days"
