    Drive System

    What Owners Say

    Differential

"Only got a warning on the instrument cluster. No observed problem. The dealer located the problem and changed out the differential because they said it was not working properly. No problem before or after."

    Anonymous, (2023 Genesis GV70 Advanced 3.5-L V6 turbo)

"Well known problem was chronic whining noise related to the differential. Dealer was aware and rear differential internals were replaced in one shop visit. Whining noise solved."

    Anonymous, (2023 Genesis GV70 Standard 2.5-L 4 Cyl turbo)

"Experienced a faint noise at 50-59 mph take your foot off the accelerator goes away engage the accelerator the noise comes back. The differential was replaced once before the noise went away several months later it came back it has been in for diagnosis several times and the tech did not hear finally the last to sit was in they heard the noise and the differential is going to be replaced again. Apparently this is a known issue with this vehicle and several owners have posted about this noise and differential issues there are articles on the differential and how to fix or replace. Took the dealership several times to acknowledge or hear the noise despite my complaint"

Anonymous, MI (2023 Genesis GV70 Sport 2.5-L 4 Cyl turbo)

"The car made a whining noise from the rear of the vehicle. The dealer dismantled the differential and discovered metal shavings in it. They rebuilt it and it's been OK since but it was in the shop for a couple of weeks"

Anonymous, NJ (2023 Genesis GV70 Advanced 2.5-L 4 Cyl turbo)

    Climate System

AC compressor, blower (fan) motor, condenser, evaporator, heater system, automatic climate system, electrical failure, refrigerant leakage.

    What Owners Say

    A/C compressor

"No cold air produced as a Florida resident is a serious problem. Vehicle left at dealership which took far too long to diagnose the issue and have to order a new compressor they surprisingly did not have on hand. Spent two weeks at dealership. A loaner was provided."

Anonymous, FL (2023 Genesis GV70 Standard 2.5-L 4 Cyl turbo)
    Automatic climate control

""Right at the start of this year, 2025, we started feeling cold air blowing through the center vents while in automatic temperature control mode. Warm air still came out floor vents to keep the cabin warm, but the cold air coming out of center vents reduced comfort. Something has definitely changed. It did not used to be like this. However, the dealership is unable to diagnose and fix. They have offered to order and replace the entire interior climate system, but warned this is a pretty catastrophic fix, requiring the entire dash to be disassembled and removed to get to the climate system. Also requiring significant time and may result in mystery creaks, squeaks and rattles once completed. It would be covered under warranty. It is now a choice we have to make, whether to live with the slight loss of temperature comfort, or opt for the nuclear bomb fix.""

    Anonymous A., UT (2023 Genesis GV70 Prestige 2.5-L 4 Cyl turbo)

"about a year into ownership the car began idling rougher from cold start. when the engine would transition from high to regular idle or open loop to closed loop, the transition to the main injectors was rough. at the time I was not using a top tier gasoline. After a month or so the check engine light illuminated and reported a misfire code. took the car to the dealer for diagnostics and they identified and replaced 2 injectors. Since the repair I have been using a top tier gasoline (shell or mobile) and so far things have been good. not sure there is truth to top tier gasoline or not.
