We expect the 2025 Terrain to have about average reliability when compared to other new cars. This prediction is based on GMC's brand history and the previous generation of the Terrain.
The Reliability score is based on our latest subscriber survey of 2010 GMC Terrain owners. The owner comments describe problems respondents experienced with this vehicle.
Paint (fading, chalking, peeling, or cracking), loose interior or exterior trim or moldings, rust.
Accessory belts and pulleys, engine computer, engine mounts, engine knock or ping, fuel leaks, oil leaks.
"Engine was rebuilt in 2017 with roughly 90k miles on the vehicle. In 2022 my wife started driving the car and it began to leak oil. The engine developed a knock and metal shavings were found in the cylinder head from lack of oil. The original engine rebuild was due to the dieseling caused by the high pressure fuel pump even after the fix done in the recall"

"I KEEP THE CAR CLEAN & WASHED. THERE IS RUST AROUND THE INSIDE OF THE DOORS - UNDERCOATED BUT IT HAS NOT STOPPED THE RUST ALONG THE INSIDE OF THE DOORS - VERY EMBARRASSING - I ASKED ABOUT CORRECTING THE PROBLEM - COST PREVENTATIVE. I LIKE THE SIZE AND FUNCTIONALITY OF THIS VEHICLE. GETTING IN & OUT WOULD BE MORE COMFORTABLE IF GREATER PADDING ON THE SEAT. THERE IS AN ELECTRICAL SHORT INSIDE THE FRONT INSIDE PANEL THAT AFFECTS THE LIGHTING"
