    First Take
The GMC Yukon/Chevy Tahoe twins moved to a new, more-refined platform for 2000. The upscale Yukon Denali has since moved to that platform and offers a 6.0-liter, 320-hp V8. In any version, this SUV is made to haul lots of people or cargo. All available V8s feel strong. Two-wheel-drive models are available with traction control; four-wheel-drive models have a selectable four-wheel-drive system or a permanent AWD system in the expensive Denali which comes with the 6.0-liter engine. Handling and ride are commendable. Inside, the cabin is quiet, and an available third seating row stretches your carrying options.
