    First Take
The Yukon's ride is supple and controlled, and towing capacity is impressive. There is room for seven or eight passengers, but there's little space behind the tiny third-row seat. Denali models have a powerful 6.2-liter V8 and all-wheel drive. The six-speed automatic slightly improved fuel economy and acceleration. Four-wheel-drive models have a selectable full-time system that can remain engaged at all times. Handling and braking are so-so. We recorded 19 mpg in our Tahoe hybrid, a big improvement over the 14 mpg from the 5.3-liter V8.
