"Honda issued a recall for oil leaks in pistons but my leaks did not show up until several years after it expired and even tho' I have taken it to the same dealer for maintenance every few months, no one mentioned it. Then two years ago my engine started a grinding noise and I was told it was 'low on oil" and would require $3000 of work or I could bring it in whenever it got low and they'd add oil. So now I take it in for oil every few weeks."

What Owners Say

Engine rebuild or replacement

"Was about 17 months ago, but got check engine light and had to drive immediately to dealership. Was able to drive it. Took to auto zone for system check and they told me was engine misfire. Took to dealership next day and had to have $5000 worth of service. One of cylinders had a lot of oil in it and I think had to have rings replaced. Had always had oil consumption issue with car since I bought it and dealer told me was normal consumption. In previous years had two catalytic converters replaced. In past maybe 7-8 years had to put in approximately $9000 dollars. It is running now, running well and all power equipment is working (lost high speed in windshield wipers, but still working). Would like to keep this for another 2-3 years, as long as transmission keeps up."
