    Climate System

AC compressor, blower (fan) motor, condenser, evaporator, heater system, automatic climate system, electrical failure, refrigerant leakage.

    What Owners Say

    A/C compressor

"I live in Florida and the AC has always struggled to keep the car comfortable during the summer. The AC failed in the 4th year. The compresser failed along with some O rings and a module. I had the AC repaired to the tune of $1750. Three years later the AC failed again. I had the AC repaired again. I started to have intermitant problems again. This time I studied up on AC repairs and made the repairs myself. The AC has never kept the car cool to my liking. I believe Honda provides an inadequet AC on purpose. Not a fan of Honda AC unit."

Anonymous A., FL (2009 Honda Civic LX 1.8-L 4 Cyl)

"AC stops working if driving in heavy traffic or after a lengthy highway drive."

Anonymous, NJ (2009 Honda Civic EX 1.8-L 4 Cyl)

"About 3 years ago, the air conditioning started to be very noticeably less good at cooling the car, especially on very hot days. I had the coolant checked, replaced, looked for leaks, and all of those were fine. My mechanic suggested that the compressor was worn out. I have not replaced it as it still works, but just not very quickly and not as cold on very hot days."

Anonymous, IN (2009 Honda Civic EX 1.8-L 4 Cyl)

"AC stopped blowing cold air. There were several items that needed to be replaced compressor unit, plus leaking hoses."

Anonymous, MD (2009 Honda Civic 1.8-L 4 Cyl)

Anonymous, PA (2009 Honda Civic EX 1.8-L 4 Cyl)

"Experienced multiple situations where the car would not start. The dealers service team examined several times, including battery replacement. Ultimately they resolved the problem - thanks to an experienced service technician remembering a similar problem years ago - by replacing a relay that related to the air conditioning system, as well as other systems I presume. We ended up getting a friend who is a welder/fabricator to make us what we needed fron scratch. It appears to have been a supply issue. I took the Civic to a Honda dealer and was told it is normal wear and tear. Mechanicaly the car is solid. Paint, trim, and moulding wise it is a POS."
