Anonymous, MA (2014 Honda Civic EX-L 1.8-L 4 Cyl)

"Started to hear clicking noise when I would make left turns. This started with any cause I am aware of (no accident, pothole, or anything I can think of that could have caused damage). Did not occur on right turns. Did not affect operation of car in general. Steering was fine. Referred to mechanic who did a drive test. Mechanic said noise was on and off and not a fix that was needed immediately and I could give it more time. However, I generally don't like to drive knowing there is an issue. Mechanic agreed to fix. They replaced the driveshaft and the left axel seal."

Anonymous A., CA (2014 Honda Civic EX 1.8-L 4 Cyl)

"Needed new stub shaft at 126,000 km. May have been due to a pothole. Was diagnosed quickly and repaired which eliminated the awful sound and slight vibration it caused."

/ 5

What Owners Say

Transmission rebuild or replacement

"Initially the car started "bogging down" periodically for minumal periods of time, mostly on the highway. It wasn't apparent just thought I felt it. With the the month I got a warning not to drive the car then it wouldn't get up to speed and felt like the transmission was "slipping." Took it to the shop. Because of the type of transmission that is in this model it couldn't be repaired, it had to be replaced. The wait for a new transmission was excessive so had to go with one from a wrecked car. Total cost $5k but cheaper than buying another car and otherwise the vehicle was still in good shape so paid to have it replaced."
