    Climate System

AC compressor, blower (fan) motor, condenser, evaporator, heater system, automatic climate system, electrical failure, refrigerant leakage.

    What Owners Say

    A/C compressor

    "Factory recall"

    Anonymous, ID (2017 Honda Civic EX-T 2.0-L 4 Cyl)

"Ive had the ac break AGAIN on this car last October. This is the 4th time. My last repair was done under an extended warranty, but they installed a 3rd party compressor without my knowledge. So my latest fix I had to pay out of pocket) $2000. You can hear that you have a problem before you lose cooling. You can hear gurgling under the dashboard. Apparently it will happen again because the refrigerant corrodes the Ac system. Completely unhappy with this and this car."

Anonymous, MA (2017 Honda Civic EX 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)

"It must have a leak, as it blows hot air even after recharged"

Anonymous, NY (2017 Honda Civic LX 2.0-L 4 Cyl)

""Nous vous avons deja informe de ce probleme. En 2020 le compresseur a brise. En 2023 (ou 2022), le condenseur a brise. Nous lavons fait repare. En septembre 2024, il y a eu a nouveau un probleme avec lair climatise. Nous ne savons pas encore la cause du probleme. Nous allons le faire reparer.""

Anonymous, (2017 Honda Civic LX 1.5-L 4 Cyl turbo)

""Have had repeated issues with a/c not working after 48,000 mi""

Anonymous, CA (2017 Honda Civic Sport 1.5-L 4 Cyl turbo)

""Refrig leak dye shows all over the compressor clutch, indicating a leak on the front seal. Honda Will not fix this leak, despite being covered by an extended warranty, unless I agree to pay for all other possible leaks in the system. The dealer claims that the evaporator is leaking, and they want $2200 for replacement. I asked for evidence of the leak, and they denied to provide any. So I'm stuck. The dealer claims that the compressor seal, condenser, and evaporator are all leaking on my car, even though it only has 35k miles on it. I don't believe the dealer about all these leaks, although I did personally verify the compressor seal leak.""

    Anonymous A., CA (2017 Honda Civic EX-T 1.5-L 4 Cyl turbo)
    Blower (fan) motor

"Not blowing cold air sent out snow from blower"

Anonymous, CA (2017 Honda Civic EX 1.5-L 4 Cyl turbo)

"Le condenseur a brise en 2022 ou 2023. Nous lavons fait reparer."

Anonymous, (2017 Honda Civic LX 1.5-L 4 Cyl turbo)
    Refrigerant leaks

""Was charged $350 to recharge R1234 and add dye. 2 years later, AC weak, took back to dealer, and they said Compressor seal, Condenser, and Evaporator all need replacing. Condenser and compressor seal covered by extended warranty, but evap replacement costs $2200, so I declined, and recharged system myself.""

    Anonymous A., CA (2017 Honda Civic EX-T 1.5-L 4 Cyl turbo)

"Noticed in May 2025,taken to garage for repair. Needed new refrigerant."

Anonymous, MI (2017 Honda Civic LX 2.0-L 4 Cyl)

"Recharged multiple times but had to replace components that were leaking"

Anonymous A., UT (2017 Honda Civic Si 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)

""Part 80331-TBC-A01 Heat Pipe Exchange had a hole and needed replacing. Coolant had leaked out. It was not covered under warranty and the issue ended up taking 3 dealer visits (initial diagnosis which was inconclusive ($590), follow-up to give more time for dye to show up which allowed for an estimate ($0), and the actual repair ($855)). Total around $1445. Car had around $82k miles when A/C started blowing warm in May 2024. I delayed the actual repair until April 2025 due to the cost and because the coolant refill temporarily corrected the issue. The leak was slow enough I knew I could wait until after the winter.""
