    Owner Reported Trouble Spots

The Reliability score is based on our latest subscriber survey of 2022 Honda Civic owners. The owner comments describe problems respondents experienced with this vehicle.

    Noises And Leaks

Squeaks, rattles, wind noises, seals and/or weather stripping, air and water leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Air or water leaks

"After heavy rain, water drips out of the interior trim of the hatch when it is in its open position."

Anonymous A., CT (2022 Honda Civic Touring 1.5-L 4 Cyl turbo)

"Water leak from rear hatch inside of sealed area draining onto cargo area and spare tire well from light rain. Dealer had vehicle for two weeks diagnosing issue. Upon collection of the vehicle, it was observed that the service technician had spilled body sealant on the rear cargo cover and also on the rear bumper under the taillight. I requested that the cargo cover be replaced by service department and they agreed, only to send the wrong part to my home. I then had to drive back to the dealer for them to find one from a new vehicle on their lot. The car was also covered in baked on hard water spots. The vehicle was dropped off in a clean state and its reasonable to expect to collect it in the same condition but this was not the case. Another poor Honda of Newnan service department experience!"

Anonymous, GA (2022 Honda Civic Touring 1.5-L 4 Cyl turbo)
    Squeaks or rattles

"Unacceptable level of squeaks and rattles from interior door trim and dashboard. Absolutely obnoxious squeak from drivers seat when entering/exiting vehicle. Dealer technician (Honda of Newnan Georgia) could not replicate issue but when pointed out to service manager, all of a sudden it was able to be heard. A loose rod was found in the seat assembly and supposedly tightened. This did not resolve the issue, and I was advised after this repair that they would not pursue additional troubleshooting despite the squeak being as prominent as it was prior to repair. Extremely poor service experience. Contacted Honda corporate customer service who was of no help in resolving issue. Will not lease/purchase another Honda product due to the consistently poor service department experiences and overall lack of quality of vehicle."

Anonymous, GA (2022 Honda Civic Touring 1.5-L 4 Cyl turbo)

"Surprisingly rattly interior for a new Honda. Rattles and creaks come from the instrument pannel, dashboard, and (most annoyingly) the driver shoulder belt anchor right next to the ear!"

Anonymous A., CO (2022 Honda Civic Si 1.5-L 4 Cyl turbo)

"both driver and passenger seat belt assemblies in the B pillar rattle and vibrate on certain paved roads"

Anonymous, (2022 Honda Civic Touring 1.5-L 4 Cyl turbo)

    Steering And Suspension

Shocks or struts, ball joints, tie rods, wheel bearings, alignment, steering linkage (includes rack and pinion), power steering (pumps and hoses, leaks), wheel balance, springs or torsion bars, bushings, electronic or air suspension.

    What Owners Say

Steering linkage (includes rack and pinion)

"Steering wheel would stick when taking a highway curve and require extra effort to recenter the steering wheel ."

Anonymous, (2022 Honda Civic Touring 1.5-L 4 Cyl turbo)

"I have joined many others in reporting a "sticky" steering problem. The car requires constant correction while driving; sometimes this is worse than at other times. We two drivers have learned to compensate for it, but it feels dangerous. We have complained to the local Honda dealer, but they say there is not recall so they won't work on it. I have joined in a class action lawsuit regarding the problem, but that is still in process and I doubt it will be settled before the car runs out of warranty in October 24."

Anonymous A., TX (2022 Honda Civic Touring 1.5-L 4 Cyl turbo)

"Steering will stick at highway speeds with low mileage. Sticks now at any rate if speed. No resolution yet, due to Honda repair shop was testing for a different recall issue and I asked they check out the issue I was experiencing. They stated they did a road test, but did not notice the steering sticking. Although their are other consumers reporting the same issue."

Anonymous A., (2022 Honda Civic Sport 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)

    In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

    What Owners Say

    Android Auto

"Android Auto would not connect which require a complete restart of the head unit"

Anonymous, TX (2022 Honda Civic Si 1.5-L 4 Cyl turbo)

    Paint And Trim

Paint (fading, chalking, peeling, or cracking), loose interior or exterior trim or moldings, rust.

    What Owners Say
