    Exhaust

Muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, heat shields, leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Other/unsure

"Loud annoying noise when car is in reverse. Much louder than an ICE engine would make. 85 decibels at the front mounted speaker. This was Honda's response to protect sight impaired pedestrians from the quiet EV."

Anonymous, (2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport Touring 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"Backseat seatbelt rubs neck, no option to adjust shoulder height up or down in backseat"

    Anonymous A., VA (2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"I don't like the windshield wipers/spray. Cleaner comes out from the wipers and it's wasted, flies over to the passenger side window in the wind. I prefer the old-fashioned way of windshield fluid coming up from underneath the hood--not from the wipers directly."

Anonymous, NY (2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport Touring 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"Car went into limp mode when on the highway in -40 weather. Honda still has not resolved the problem."

Anonymous A., AB (2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport Touring 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"Complete systems failure with temperature of -10 degrees Fahrenheit"

    "Intermittent issues"

    Anonymous, ON (2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid EX-L 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Apple CarPlay

"it freezes, fails to switch between phones and controls on handlebar have a delay"

Anonymous, QC (2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    CD player

"New Hondas lack built-in CD-Player. The HOTT portable we bought works only with signal to FM-radio, which does not provide good sound, and does not work with Blutooth. We can use Blutooth with music on a thumb drive and get good sound but poor control of the drive contents. Since we really want to be able to play selected CDs on vacation trips, we are not at all satisfied."

Anonymous, NY (2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Radio

"Radio will not turn off T times especially in reverse."

    Fuel System/Emissions

Sensors (O₂, or oxygen, sensor), emission-control devices (includes EGR), fuel-injection system, fuel gauge/sender, fuel pump, problems filling up the tank.

    What Owners Say

    Emission control devices (includes EGR)

"At 4,800 miles, the car started bucking and making a low pitched rumbling sound as it went from Hybrid to gas modes. Online, it said the gas cap or emmissions system was to blame and that Honda knew about this problem but has not issued a recall. They stated that Honda dealerships were told to apply a software update to all new models in stock and clearly, they did not. Then, they told me that the problem was going to require all of the fuel injectors to be replaced and did not provide a loaner vehicle after stating they would. The car is brand new and I am in a loaner only after having to escalate the issue because Honda of White Plains (NY) did not have the parts in stock and then told me they had no ETA on the backordered fuel injectors. I'm not allowed to have my kids or wife drive the loaner, and am not allowed to have pets in it. The problem is ongoing as I have been without my car going on three weeks. I wish I had never considered buying a Honda at this point as the lackluster service accompanied by a car that I have ZERO confidence in, is simply not acceptable."

Anonymous, NY (2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Fuel injection system

"They had to replace the fuel injectors and the fuel rail."

Anonymous, NY (2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport Touring 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
Sensors (includes O2 or oxygen sensor)

"Sensors started going off prior to the fuel injector issue. The service department was informed that there was a software update and promptly told me that this was not the solution to my issue. Do I believe them? Not a bit. I have lost all confidence in the integrity of a brand new Honda CR-V Hybrid that cost me $40,000. I will never buy a Honda again based on this horrible experience both with the vehicle and the service department response."

Steering linkage (includes rack and pinion)

"Sticky steering started at about 3,500 km. This was annoying but controllable. Honda agreed to replace the steering rack (EPS) under warranty. Honda advised not to drive vehicle. Still waiting for rack to arrive after two months."

    What Owners Say

    12V battery

"We were on a trip for 12 days with the car locked and in our garage. When we got back we could not open the doors. The car had to be towed on a flatbed to the dealer where it was found that a cell in the 12V battery failed. I'm never going to keep the doors locked while the car is in the garage."

    Engine Major

Engine rebuild or replacement, cylinder head, head gasket, turbocharger or supercharger, timing chain or belt.

    What Owners Say

    Other major engine problem

"About halfway up a steep hill on an interstate highway, the engine rpms ramp up very high. The car shakes from that, and it is very loud. I brought it to for a warranty check at my Honda dealer and was told that it is normal, and nothing is wrong with it. No other explanation was given. I googled the problem and found it has happened to others. The issue seems to be with the low power Atkinson engine and dual electric generators that kick in when more power is needed. It would have been nice to know that this would happen before buying. Consumer Reports never mentioned it and the dealer didn't either."

Anonymous, NY (2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

    Brakes

Premature pad/rotor wear, pulsation or vibration, antilock system, parking brake, master cylinder, calipers, squeaking, brake failure, regenerative braking.

    What Owners Say

    Squeaking

"Started around 8000 miles. Left front wheel area continuously chirping at all speeds and more so in turns. Multiple trips to dealer: 1. December 2023: turned rotors for rust, 2. February 2024: turned rotors again for rust and warping, 3. May 2024: replaced rotors (dealer blamed operator for hard braking; not the case-still chirping upon pick-up. 4. June-August 2024: dealer had to order brake pads and calipers (took 30 days). Pick up August 22nd and chirping finally stopped."
