"The VTC actuator is reportedly a common problem with Honda engines in the CR-V and similar Hondas. Repairs can cost $500 or more, and a class action suit is being considered. The symptom is a loud rattle for a couple of seconds upon start-up. There can be damage to the timing chain as a result.
