    What Owners Say

    Other/unsure

"Starter. Problem started a few months ago when car wouldnt occasionally start when pressing start button. I initially thought that the problem was with the start button but when I brought it to the dealer, they diagnosed that the problem was the starter. They said that a new starter would cost $200 more than a manufactured starter but only have a 1 year warranty versus a 3 year warranty for a manufactured one so I got the remanufactured one. It seemed to show that Honda doesnt have much faith in the quality of their products"

    Brakes

Premature pad/rotor wear, pulsation or vibration, antilock system, parking brake, master cylinder, calipers, squeaking, brake failure, regenerative braking.

    What Owners Say

    Calipers

"When the car reached speeds of 45 to 55 mph a high pitched sound was heard from one of the rear wheels. Because we were on a trip and were approximately 250 miles from our home we did not think it was safe to try to return home so left the vehicle at the local Honda dealer. It turned out to be one of the calipers on a rear wheel. We made the correct decision to rent a vehicle to return home and picked up our vehicle 5 days later learning that we probably would not have made it home because one of the rear wheels probably would have locked up when the caliper completely failed."

    Anonymous, MI (2015 Honda CR-V EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)

"One rear wheel caliper seized and caused rotor overheating. I was able to drive to a service point for repair."

    Anonymous, QC (2015 Honda CR-V EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)
    Other brakes problem

"Brake fluid was dirty, dealer says change it. So I did. Not 5000 miles later, it was dirty again, dealer says change again. This doesn't make sense."

    Anonymous, MA (2015 Honda CR-V Touring 2.4-L 4 Cyl)
    Premature brake wear

"Rear brake pads were grinding and scoring the rotor making the unusable for several days. The calipers were cleaned, pads replaced and rotor needed resurfacing after less than 10,000 miles since original replacement."

    Anonymous A., MA (2015 Honda CR-V EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)

"I have been through 5 replacement brakes since getting this vehicle used, with only 5,000 km on it. I believe this is a serious fault in the vehicle."

    Anonymous A., ON (2015 Honda CR-V Touring 2.4-L 4 Cyl)

"Due to my having moved to a new city it has taken a while to locate a reliable garage to maintain the CRV. The brake wear was spotted by the new mechanic while changing out the winter tires for the summer tires. The premature brake wear likely was caused by my failure to have the brake calipers cleaned and lubricated. Which likely caused the rear brakes to drag or possible even seize up."

    Anonymous, ON (2015 Honda CR-V EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)
    Regular brake failure

"rear brakes just wore out, perhaps a little sooner than I thought they should (about 22000 miles) bit I will talk to the mechanic"

    Anonymous, BC (2015 Honda CR-V EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)

Transmission rebuild or replacement, torque converter, premature clutch replacement.

    What Owners Say

    Transmission rebuild or replacement

"Vehicle had fluid replaced regularly. last fall would randomly notice what might be slippage or CRT transmission hunting. No codes and dealer didn't feel during their test drive and had us change fluid which would be coming up soon. In February noticed sporadic/infrequent hard shifting. Dealer checked fluid level and codes and said all was good. In May hard shifting became frequent. Dealer found metal in fluid and said there was a mechanical failure inside and would eventually need replacement. 2 weeks later car went into limp mode . Had transmission replaced. A week later hard shifting again. Dealer found too much fluid in transmission and corrected. We still feel an occasional "bump" but transmission came with 3 year warranty so we will take back if it worsens. Car went into limp mode again 6 weeks after change. Replaced Camshaft and Crankshaft position sensors. No issues since (3weeks). Car has always randomly turned over several times without cranking or before cranking. Once we turn off and try again would crank normally."
