    Exhaust

Muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, heat shields, leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Other exhaust system problem

"Smell of fumes in the car when driven. Over a 3 day period. Smell Disappeared. My mechanic thought it might be Exhaust Manifold Gasket**: - **Location**: It is found between the exhaust manifold and the engine block. - **Purpose**: Seals the joint of the exhaust manifold to prevent exhaust gases from leaking into the engine compartment. He did a quick test and it was not that. Gas smell disappeared a few days after!"

    Anonymous, TN (2016 Honda CR-V Touring 2.4-L 4 Cyl)
    Squeaks or rattles

"We purchased a 2005 Pilot in June of 2005 and we loved that car. We kept the car for 15 years and 250000 miles and then gave the car to a niece. That 15 year old Pilot had no rattles or paint problems while our 2016 CRV has both. The rattles began in 2019 and have been progressively worse. Due to the exorbitant price the dealer wanted to charge for a small paint chip, we didn't even consider asking the dealer to look at the call. The 2016 CRV is probably the last Honda we will purchase"

    Anonymous, IN (2016 Honda CR-V LX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)

"The exhaust system rattled at about 60000 miles. It occurs all the time. It was resolved at 64000 miles."

    What Owners Say

Paint (fading, chalking, cracking, or peeling)

"I've had the car 7 years. There was some fading and scratches & I've got almost no rust on my car, so I had them touched up. I don't at all think this is a Honda flaw, simply wear & tear."

    Anonymous A., NY (2016 Honda CR-V EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)
    Rust

"A paint chip on a door has rusted. We wanted to have it repaired, but the dealer said we would need to repaint both doors and the front fender at a cost of over 1000 dollars for a paint chip that was less than 1 square inch. Needless to say, we do not do business with that dealer anymore. In fact, the annoying troubles we have had with our 2008 Civic (paint) and our CRV has turned us away from even considering a Honda for our next car."

    Body Hardware

Windows, locks and latches, doors or sliding doors, tailgate, trunk or hatch, mirrors, seat controls (power or manual), seat belts, sunroof, convertible top, glass defect.

    What Owners Say

    Mirrors

"The shroud on the passenger side mirror MELTED. I brought it to the dealer & he said I must've parked next to a big truck (tractor trailer) with a high exhaust pipe, that it wasn't a flaw in the mirror (it is electric & heated). He would not repair it. SO I bought another shroud & installed it myself. It was melted by the next day. I called the dealer again, & he said to call Honda directly. So I did & that person wanted to know if I parked next to a mirror on a sunny day (really??). I did not. I live in the Adirondack mountains of upstate NY. It's always pretty cool up here. I bought a THIRD shroud. I put it on. It did not melt for about 8 months. But now it too is melted. I think it's the heater in my mirror, but the dealer insists it isn't and will only replace the mirror if I pay for it ( about $900). This has been doing the melting thing since I bought it."

    Anonymous A., NY (2016 Honda CR-V EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)
