"in 2023 i noticed paint peeling on roof.I brought it to dealer and was told it was out of warranty. i then discovered a Facebook site about Honda peeling paint. There was a recall/ settlement of a class action covering hondas through 2018.Mine is a 2019. the peeling got worse. I ended up suing in small claims court. I won the case and Honda North America paid me 3800 +costs + interest. I had the car repainted in April 2025 at a cost of $3800. There is talk of another class action , and i did not want to wait. this is a terrible problem , and I reported it to Consumer Reports a few months ago. Honda needs to be held accountable. Our 2019 HRV had white paint , and was assembled in Jalisco, Mexico. The body shop manager testified that he has seen "hundreds" of peeling Hondas, and that the paint is defective. The Court agreed with his opinion."
