    Engine Minor

Accessory belts and pulleys, engine computer, engine mounts, engine knock or ping, fuel leaks, oil leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Accessory belts or pulleys

    "Idler pulley bearing failure"

Anonymous, BC (2011 Honda Odyssey Touring Elite 3.5-L V6)
    Engine mounts

"Front engine mount broke causing lots of engine vibration. Mount on back order."

Anonymous, FL (2011 Honda Odyssey Touring Elite 3.5-L V6)
    Oil leaks

"Spool valve was leaking and it could damage the alternator if not fixed in time."

Anonymous, CA (2011 Honda Odyssey Touring Elite 3.5-L V6)

"Van started leaking oil. Identified it was coming from vvt solenoid. Replaced gasket, leak continued eventually replaced whole solenoid and gasket. Fixed oil leak but oild had leaked into alternator and caused it to kick off voltage error readings on dash. Eventually alternator just failed. Alternator gave no error codes indicating it was having issues during this time period and replaced battery 3 times prior thinking that caused it. If vvt solenoid is leaking best to replace alternator too."

Anonymous, NC (2011 Honda Odyssey EX 3.5-L V6)
    Other minor engine problem

"My Honda Odyssey is About 13 years old and just this month of August 2024 some of the sensors are malfunctioning. On an unusually wet day when I skidded slightly the engine light came on. Several malfunctions came up on the detector used by Advanced Auto to give me an idea of what I needed to have the Honda garage check when I take it in for service this week.';"

    Anonymous, WV (2011 Honda Odyssey EX-L 3.5-L V6)

"purchased in 2019. was in the shop 3 times for same issues with valve seals. When occurring, the car would not drive smoothly as if it was gasping for fuel, jerking in motion."

    Anonymous A., LA (2011 Honda Odyssey EX-L 3.5-L V6)

    Body Hardware

Windows, locks and latches, doors or sliding doors, tailgate, trunk or hatch, mirrors, seat controls (power or manual), seat belts, sunroof, convertible top, glass defect.

    What Owners Say

    Doors or sliding doors

"The left rear sliding door does not work at times. It does not open when the handle or remote are uses. It will open and close with some prompting. Other times it works as it should."

Anonymous, IN (2011 Honda Odyssey EX 3.5-L V6)

"The front doors will not stay open. The interior front armrests on driver and passenger side have deteriorated to the point that I have to repair with duct tape. Both sliding doors in the back sometimes will jerk and not want to close ... especially on a slight incline up or down a hill ... they have to be forcibly pushed shut. I think these problems sometimes cause a warning signal to go off in the van that sometimes can be quieted by locking the doors. Was told nothing could be done."

    Anonymous, WV (2011 Honda Odyssey EX-L 3.5-L V6)

"Sliding door on passenger side does not close consistently without manual assist."

    Anonymous, OH (2011 Honda Odyssey 3.5-L V6)

    Exhaust

Muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, heat shields, leaks.

    What Owners Say

Anonymous, NC (2011 Honda Odyssey EX 3.5-L V6)
    Other/unsure

    Anonymous A., UT (2011 Honda Odyssey Touring 3.5-L V6)

"The "ECO" function frequently caused the vehicle to do what I describe as a buckin' bronco. I had to purchase a over the counter (not Honda) device to disable this function, which has worked well."

Anonymous, PA (2011 Honda Odyssey Touring Elite 3.5-L V6)

"Since new, it has a very annoying habit of running very rough with a slight bit of gas on, particularly when going up an incline at exactly 50-52 KPH. Checked many times at the dealers but they have never been able to pinpoint it. It is just plain annoying."

Reliability indicates how models have performed in the past, providing the basis for predicting how the vehicles will hold up in the year ahead. These charts provide the most comprehensive reliability information available to consumers. Based on information received from our latest subscriber survey for over 300,000 vehicles, our reliability history charts give you a rundown on how 2000 through 2024 vehicles are holding up in 20 potential trouble spots, ranging from the engine, transmission, electric motor, EV charging, and brakes to power equipment and the electrical accessories. NA indicates that we did not receive a large enough sample size to provide data for a specific year. An X indicates that the vehicle was not manufactured for a specific year.

    What should you do:
Honda will notify owners, and dealers will install a bracket to the second row outboard floor strikers, free of charge. The recall began April 2, 2018. Owners may contact American Honda Customer Support & Campaign Center at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is S0G.
