I do not wait for the light to come on to check the oil but it would have helped as there was a bit of time the first and second time I checked and now the head gasket has gone again. This has been an issue with these engines and Honda had a class action law suite against them on this engine."

"First this is an expensive fix and have had to do this 3 times in the years I owned the vehicle. The last time it required the vehicle to be towed as the part failed and completly broke causing wheel to almost fall off. I previously owned a 1999 2500 surban and even when it hit over 250,000 I never had a problem with these parts."
