"trailer hitch - had recall notice; took several visits to dealer who procrastinated over a year before fixing problem"

Anonymous, AZ (2020 Hyundai Palisade Limited 3.8-L V6)

"Paint peeling. Had to have sections repainted."

Anonymous, FL (2020 Hyundai Palisade Limited 3.8-L V6)

    What Owners Say

    A/C compressor

"The compressor died about 7 months ago-the dealer delivered a loaner vehicle and picked up my car for service-then returned it once completed-no charge-covered by warranty"

    Anonymous A., FL (2020 Hyundai Palisade Limited 3.8-L V6)
    Refrigerant leaks

"Ongoing problem since the vehicle was 18 months old. Have had compressor replaced once, and that lasted for the summer. For the last two summers have needed to get refrigerant topped up each May. Wasn't charged for the first top up, and did the most recent one myself."

Anonymous, ON (2020 Hyundai Palisade SEL 3.8-L V6)

    Brakes

Premature pad/rotor wear, pulsation or vibration, antilock system, parking brake, master cylinder, calipers, squeaking, brake failure, regenerative braking.

    What Owners Say

    Premature brake wear

"Car went through a set of rear brakes in 60000km, yet front brakes are still at greater than 60%. Hyundai says it is due to adaptive cruise control"

Anonymous, BC (2020 Hyundai Palisade SEL 3.8-L V6)
    Rotors

"Dealer service center said that rotors needed to be replaced at about 96,000 km. That seems to be very premature to me. Fairly expensive fix, just off warranty."

Anonymous, ON (2020 Hyundai Palisade SEL 3.8-L V6)

    Noises And Leaks

Squeaks, rattles, wind noises, seals and/or weather stripping, air and water leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Squeaks or rattles

"Under the car there is occasionally a loud whirling sound that causes the exhaust pipe to shake and rattle. In addition the AC sometimes exhibits a rattling when on."

Anonymous, CA (2020 Hyundai Palisade Limited 3.8-L V6)

Anonymous, WA (2020 Hyundai Palisade Limited 3.8-L V6)

    Paint And Trim

Paint (fading, chalking, peeling, or cracking), loose interior or exterior trim or moldings, rust.

    What Owners Say

Paint (fading, chalking, cracking, or peeling)

"The white Paint started flaking off right after 36K miles in multiple places. Hyundai refused to do anything about it after many requests. I will never buy a Hyundai again. Extremely disappointing!!"

    Anonymous A., SC (2020 Hyundai Palisade SEL 3.8-L V6)

"Paint is peeling on 2 of the wheels both have already been replaced under warranty 2 years ago"

    Anonymous A., IL (2020 Hyundai Palisade Limited 3.8-L V6)

    Engine Minor

Accessory belts and pulleys, engine computer, engine mounts, engine knock or ping, fuel leaks, oil leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Other minor engine problem

"The car is burned oil since it was purchased. All of the oil change places we go to tell us that these engines on the Hyundai and Kia burn oil and then its normal. The car is beautiful, but had many recalls and have no confidence and its ability to last. Computer system is also questionable."

Anonymous, TN (2020 Hyundai Palisade Limited 3.8-L V6)

    Engine Major

Engine rebuild or replacement, cylinder head, head gasket, turbocharger or supercharger, timing chain or belt.

    What Owners Say

    Engine rebuild or replacement

"Vehicle has less then 40000 miles and burns 3 quarts of oil between the recommended 7000 mile oil change. Still fighting with Hundyai to get engine replaced. They are contending that 3 quarts of oil being burned is normal. I dont think so."

Anonymous, ND (2020 Hyundai Palisade SEL 3.8-L V6)

    Transmission Major

Transmission rebuild or replacement, torque converter, premature clutch replacement.

    What Owners Say

    Transmission rebuild or replacement

"On long travel trip to the USA transmission began to shift erratically, to the point the vehicle could not be driven anymore. US dealer replaced transmission with new one under warranty - it took a total of seven weeks for this to occur. Hyundai did not cover any expenses related to this other than the transmission replacement itself - no replacement vehicle, or reimbursement for expenses incurred due to incident happening 1200 km from home (i.e.,no reimbursement for rental to get home when it failed, or coverage for flight to go back and pick it up, or any associated incidentals). While Hyundai does have roadside insurance that does cover some trip interruption expenses (up to $300), my claim was denied because the vehicle wasn't towed into the dealership - by chance it failed very close to a dealership so I managed to limp the vehicle in without requiring a tow."

Anonymous, ON (2020 Hyundai Palisade SEL 3.8-L V6)

    Electrical Accessories

Cruise control, clock, warning lights, body control module, keyless entry, wiper motor or washer, tire pressure monitor, interior or exterior lights, horn, gauges, 12V power plug, USB ports, alarm or security system, remote engine start, heated or cooled seats, heated steering wheel, headlights, automatic headlights, automatic wipers, wireless charging pad.

    What Owners Say

    Other electrical system problem

"Occasionally the drivers window wont roll up at first but does after a couple of tries. Very intermittent."

Anonymous, OR (2020 Hyundai Palisade Limited 3.8-L V6)

    In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

    What Owners Say

    Hardware replacement

"Could not change XM station. Took to dealer and unit was replaced at no cost"

Anonymous, VA (2020 Hyundai Palisade Limited 3.8-L V6)

    Engine Cooling

Radiator, cooling fan, water pump, thermostat, antifreeze leaks, overheating.

    What Owners Say

    Overheating

"Car burns oil, almost 1Q per 1000 miles. Twice car stopped dead in the middle of the road. Hyundai techs unable to diagnose or fix. Local Hyundai dealership has no solution even though they had the car for a month. Local techs suggested trying for an engine replacement but Hyundai corporate won't approve. Hyundai claims oil burned is within spec and won't address the issues. Even local Hyundai techs agree corporate policy makes no sense. Cars should not burn that much oil or stop dead."

Anonymous, WA (2020 Hyundai Palisade Limited 3.8-L V6)

    Transmission Minor

Gear selector and linkage, transmission computer, transmission sensor or solenoid, clutch adjustment, rough shifting, slipping transmission, leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Rough shifting

"SUV started having rough shifts and sometimes doing gear searching. Eventually a check engine light came on but it was unrelated although dealer stated it COULD have contributed. After fixing the rough shifting remains. We have not returned because the dealer claims they can't reproduce the issue. The issue is worse in the cold and now that the weather is warm we aren't convinced they would identify the issue."

Anonymous, NC (2020 Hyundai Palisade Limited 3.8-L V6)

    Body Hardware

Windows, locks and latches, doors or sliding doors, tailgate, trunk or hatch, mirrors, seat controls (power or manual), seat belts, sunroof, convertible top, glass defect.

    What Owners Say

    Other body problem
