Anonymous, OK (2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.4L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)

"Engine knocking noise eventually led to engine slowing with warning on dash light. Car towed to dealer, diagnosed as a bearing failure. Needed a new engine long block. Covered mostly under a recall. I had to pay $475.00 for head removal and car fax to determine oil condition ie, if oil changes done to schedule. Engine was replaced within 2 days, although without a loaner vehicle. This problem occurred once, was dealt with quickly although somewhat dubious about up front fees with the dealer. This car had passed its warranty time so it was good to have new engine even though I had to pay $475.00. I am less confident about buying another Hyundai."
