What Owners Say
"Inconsistent, either running like the car is driving through a monsoon (most often the issue), or barely running. This is regardless of how I have set the sensitivity. Annoying to be driving with heavy mist and the windshield wipers running incredibly fast."

Digital Key would start vehicle. Replaced Body Domain Control Unit (BDC), also called Integrated Body Control Unit (IBU) or Body Control Module (BCM) after finding internal hardware failure. Had to remove entire center console to get to IBU. After replacing IBU, physical FOB still would not start vehicle. I was with the Tech in the vehicle with a Hyundai Tablet connected to the OBD port. To make sure the Digital Key would not interfere with the test, I had to remove the MyHyundai App from my iPhone and turn off my iPhone. The Tech had to reprogram the IBU 3 separate times before it finally worked and the Physical FOB would start the vehicle. A week later, I found a TSB that stated that this IBU problem could be updated with an OTA update. I doubt that would have solved my problem since the IBU had an internal hardware failure. No way to know for sure.""

It also is extremely hard to get the door to lock touch the button on the handle. I have to touch it a number of times before it reacts to it being touched. This is the same issue I have unlocking it as well."

If I can get the door to unlock I cant get the back doors to unlock. This is an issue when I have my hands full and have to put things down to get my key fob to unlock the door, the open the door to manually unlock the rest of the doors. Also, dont like to use key fob to set locks (concerned about security when my fob is out and communicating with the vehicle). I want to be able to lock all doors using the door lock and the system wont allow me."

I received 2 emails at separate times from Hyundai stating that OTA updates had been performed, were successful and that I did not need to do anything. The 2 emails did not advise me what had been updated. I received a notice in the vehicle that a Navigation Map update was available with instructions to sign in to the My Hyundai App on a PC for instructions on how to install my Navigation Map update. I followed the instructions, but it turns out that another update was required to update the Infotainment Software as well, all to be done using OTA Bluetooth software. I followed the instructions mostly on the Infotainment screen while the vehicle was running. This took about 2 hours. When it was finished, I received a notification on the Infotainment screen re what was updated. It wasn't completely clear, but I figured it out. Lots of gas used. My guess is that one of those previous emails that advised me that 2 OTA updates had been completed successfully was probably for the Infotainment System software update that was not completed at all. Who knows. Wireless Charging Pad: My vehicle has 2 Wireless Charging Pads. Neither one actually charges more than 5% over a 3-hour car ride. I complained to the Hyundai dealer who stated that they were unable to duplicate the problem. Doing a little research online, other Hyundai owners thought that it was an iPhone usage that was overheating the iPhone and preventing the charging function. To test that, I turned off my iPhone, removed the case, started the vehicle, verified that Apple Car Play was not on and placed that iPhone on the charging pad with no other iPhones nearby and with the vehicle running outside, tried to determine if the iPhone was charging. The lights on the iPad showed that it was charging the phone. The battery on the iPhone at the beginning of the test before turning it off was at 60%. After an hour, I turned the phone back on and the battery was at 62%. These charging pads are basically worthless. BTW, I plugged in a USB-C charging cord in the jack just forward of the charging pads on the center console with the iPhone connected to Car Play and it charged very quickly just like on a 30 watt PD charger at home. My guess is that it's a heat issue with the Pad itself or the iPhone while charging on the Pad. Who knows. Finger Print Sensor: I copied my finger print on the finger print sensor following the instructions on the Infotainment Screen. That was successful. However, the next time that I tried to use the sensor, it would not recognize my finger print. I tried several different times with no success, so I removed my finger print from the sensor.""

"The entire electrical system failed on my twice in 3 days. I had to call AAA to try and jump it, but it noted that the battery was fully charged. He found a wire that connects the battery to the fuse box was corroded at the fuse box end and I had to have the car towed to the dealership. The are not honoring the warranty by claiming the AAA caused "outside interference", plus they charged me $230 for a diagnostic fee when I was the one that told them what was wrong. The are charging me $986 to repair the problem, plus the diagnostic fee."
