    What Owners Say

    12V battery

"Battery fully discharged for no apparent reason. Road service started the car. Dealer had no explanation. Only happened once."

Anonymous A., NJ (2024 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Limited 1.6-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Cruise control

"All the Hyundais we purchased previously had a very simple two-step cruise control that worked every time. The Tucson has a one-step control that works periodically. I cant count on it like our previous cars. Disappointing."

Anonymous, CA (2024 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid SEL 1.6-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"It takes several tries to get the cruise control engaged"

Anonymous A., CA (2024 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid SEL 1.6-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Exterior lights (other than headlights)

"Signal light warning fires frequently for no apparent reason"

Anonymous, BC (2024 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid SEL 1.6-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Keyless entry

    "System is balky and inconsistent."

Anonymous A., NJ (2024 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Limited 1.6-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"The keyless entry works spasmodically. It usually locks okay, but when I want to unlock it, different things happen: 1/ it unlocks without touching the handle, 2/ it unlocks when I touch the handle, 3/ it continues to lock itself, so I have to use the fob to open it"

Anonymous, CA (2024 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid SEL 1.6-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"The car rarely lets me in the first time I touch the handle. This has been a problem from the very beginning. I often have to touch the handle 5 or 6 times before it unlocks or locks - and, yes, I have tried different spots, from touching the indentation in the handle all the way to using my entire hand on the entire handle. Half the time, when it finally unlocks, it also unlocks all the doors (even though I have it set to unlock only the driver's door with the single touch. This makes me a sitting duck. I don't want to be standing in a dark parking lot at night alone trying and trying to get into my car. I wrote to Hyundai about it and took it to the dealer months ago. The service writer AND managers witnessed and experienced the problem first hand, but they said the technician couldn't duplicate the problem, so it has gone unfixed. They told me to use the key fob to unlock it. That is BS! Women can't keep a fob in their pants pocket all the time like men, and I didn't pay over $45,000 to go fishing through my purse! I had a Toyota Rav4 with a smart key from 2008-2023, and the only times I ever took the key out of my purse was to change purses, change the battery, or give it to a valet or mechanic! As far as I know, they have never tested the sensitivity or tried changing the battery, key fob, or handles."

Anonymous, (2024 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Limited 1.6-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Other electrical system problem

"The keyless door operation works sporadically. I cant count on it unlocking when I am standing next to the car and sometime need to use my fob."

    Transmission Major

Transmission rebuild or replacement, torque converter, premature clutch replacement.

    What Owners Say

    Transmission rebuild or replacement

"An whistle coming from the engine noise at 2000 miles of the 2 month old vehicle. Took it to the dealer. Took 9 days to have service department drive the car to hear the noise! Decided that it came from the factory with transmission fluid. After contacting Hyundai Consumer affairs, the Dealership agreed to give me a new loaner car. Same type, but not a hybrid. That was July 5th. It is now August 24th and the last I heart from the service department is that my car is "on deck" to be repaired. Hyundai sent the new transmission immediately and it arrived at the dealership on July 9th. It's the service department that has been so busy with transmission repairs that my car has not been serviced. I receive calls from corporate weekly checking on the status. I never receive calls from the dealership. When I call them is takes 15 - 20 minutes to get a status report, or they say they will call me back. The return call does not come, or is from an employee that makes the call for my so called "assigned representative" for my case. He's too chicken to do me the favor of a status courtesy call! I try to be polite, but of course I am frustrated. This week no one has called from the dealership or from corporate. On Monday, August 26, I will follow up again! I am paying for a car I that has been in the service department at Burn's Hyundai in New Jersey since June 26, 2024. The car was purchased on April 30, 2024. I've been a proud and happy owner of Hyundai's since 2007. My first Hyundai was gifted to my 17 year old granddaughter for her birthday! It's been a great car. She's happily driving my old car and my new car has been in service for almost 2 months. We currently own a 2022 Palisade Limited and we love it. We owned a Sante Fe before that. Dealerships in 2 different states with 3 other dealerships. We went to this new dealership because they had the car in stock when we were ready to buy. This saga is not over yet. I will be writing to corporate and reaching out to my contact for my case tomorrow as well. Thanks for letting me vent. I can't believe the factory sent out a car without transmission fluid! According to Hyundai this is the first they have heard of this problem. I'm not sure how this will end. Luckily, I'm retire and have some time to work on this issue. It is a time consuming process and glad I'm not still raising a busy family and juggling work with this issue."
